I’d used Ernie Ball strings for as long as I could remember. Not anymore. They’d always been my favorite in terms of tone and feel. But my hands secrete acid that rivals that of a Xenomorph, so the EB’s or any non-coated strings I used were always dead after a single gig. I started putting Elixers on my non-gigging guitars just to make sure there were “fresh” strings on for extended periods of time even if I didn’t play them. What I found though, is that I would play one for a bit, put it away for a month or two, and when I got it out again the strings were still like new. So I switched my gigging guitars over to Elixer as well. Now I can continue to play with those strings at practices and gigs for several weeks before I notice any real degradation in tone and feel. They stay bright and clear and they save me money on buying pack after pack of any non-coated strings. Safe to say I’m an Elixer player for life now.

I have been playing guitar for over 50 years and have never tried these strings before. However, I have tried just about every other string on the market. These are now my favorites.
Normally, there is a break-in period for strings. Due to their design, these strings do not seem to require any break-in. They sound as they should immediately and the stay that way. The playability is incredibly good especially for bends and pull-offs. If you are looking for twangy strings, these are not for you. Since I have never liked the incessant tanginess of some strings, I find these great immediately after stringing. Besides, if I want additional treble/twang, Iโll change my sound settings.
They only thing I do not know right now is their durability since that takes much more time to determine. If it is an issue, although I highly doubt it, I will update this review.

I just love these strings. I’ve used them for years now and with my acidic body chemistry, they’re the only ones that last and always sound new for about at least a month. Highly recommended

It’s nice when a product’s claims prove to be more truth than lies. These nanoweb strings really do stay fresh and twangy and bright for a long time. One set is on my Carvin for over two years. Nothing wrong with the other top brands except that they get dull and start to corrode all too soon. I really like the Elixirs so well that It’s going to be the only string sets I use anymore. They may cost a bit more, but with the on/off playing that I do, it makes more sense to just remember to wipe them down after each use and rely on them to sound great for months/years. If I’m going to make a record, I may resort to high grade steel strings that start to rust on contact. Otherwise, it’s going to be Elixirs for the long haul.

I always get these for my ‘home’ guitars because they last ages and stay sounding bight. Worth the money just for the longevity. Highly recommended

Work great on your electric guitar. Try them out. Nice bright tone and tune up nicely. Easy to play. And no corrosion. Cost a little more but worth it.
