These binder pockets are to organize sewing patterns I’ve downloaded from internet shops. The pockets are so clear I can read the pattern without removing it from the envelope pocket, and I’ll be able to easily find the pattern I want to use. Each envelope will hold several standard sized 8 1/2” x 11” pages. I can store 2 (or more) patterns, with one facing front & the other facing back. The envelope style flap is securely held closed by a Velcro dot, & the binder holes are outside the pocket – so the pages stay neat, dry, & organized.
Using the binder pockets I won’t have to punch holes, use sticky rings on the holes when I don’t punch it quite right, & pages don’t fall out when the binder gets full or over used. These binder envelope pockets are spacious enough that I will be able to include pictures of the completed project and/or scraps of fabric with the pattern to remind myself of what I’m planning, or of what worked.

Getting 30 Velcro closure pockets for a 3 ring binder for about a buck each – love it! They appear well made, the action of opening, closing, filling them – all smooth and straightforward. The clear material makes it easy to see the contents.
Based on reviews, I had modest expectations of how much paper they hold. I was pleasantly surprised that my pockets held 20 pages easily. (Product consistency issue?)
Also based on reviews, I anticipated problems with the punched holes matching my rings. In actuality, I found that some of my 3 ring binders fit the holes perfectly, and some just barely fit, and wanted some adjustment. The design of my various 3-ring punch tools weren’t compatible, so if yours is like mine, be ready with a single hole squeeze-punch if your ring binders aren’t compatible, either. (Looks like an inconsistency with the binders, not the pockets, in my situation.)
As expected, the spaciousness of the pockets means they will stick out beyond the edge of standard binders. A binder designed for tabbed page-protectors works well.
If you want to keep them in a binder on a shelf, realize that it may not fit well on your shelf. For example, if you put them into a deep binder and expect it to fit on a 12′ deep shelf, it will stick out. (Think basic Ikea Billy with the backing on it and/or flush against the wall. Especially if there is a door on the unit.
Without a binder, they can sit in my filing cabinet in hanging files (great for product warranty plus special wrench, screws, washers for example). You can probably store the ones not currently in use in a file drawer, check your drawer dimensions.
I have a few of these pockets in my inbox tray, because I’ve got a few projects going that have lots of papers, or different sized papers. They are a slippery, so they stack better if the contents are flat and level, without objects in them.
Still, my inbox feels less intimidating this way, and paper clips sliding off is no longer an issue.
I’m looking forward to using them for sewing patterns after using them, and especially after customizing them. It’s not easy to re-stuff pattern paper back into its paper envelope! They are also excellent for product info sheets and extra screws, gaskets, and little assembly wrenches that sometimes come with the product.
All in all, I’m happy I made this purchase and have about 15 pockets in use so far, and plans for the rest of them.
Update April 2023 – I decided I wanted something nicer to hold the pockets I wanted handy on my desk, so I put those into a 3-ring album with plenty of overhang if I decide so add DIY dividers or perhaps tabs. So many album choices out there!

Those binder pockets are the perfect size for keeping my paper sewing pattern. Some came with little scratchs but still usable.

These are perfect for quilting projects. They have a velcro closure which seems more durable than a snap. I will be buying more. I like the ability to close these folders like an envelope so my embroidery project, floss, needles and scissors are easily accessible. The folders/envelopes are a little bit frosted but it is very easy to see what is inside at a glance.

I use these in my 1st graders daily take- home folders. I put their leveled readers in the pocket and the books
are not lost as often.

So happy to find something that I really need for my students at an affordable price! I purchased these and put them in plastic folders for my Kindergarten students. These are their “reading” folders and these binder pockets hold their reading books. The books are always paperback and all have fit nicely into the pockets. The kids generally have more than one book and sometimes several. The pockets hold up nicely to a lot of use. They are bigger than a folder but it doesn’t matter that they protrude and the different colors are nice. The quality along with the price definitely makes this a win!

I taught a Bible Class for kids last summer. I bought these to keep my lesson plans, as well as samples of the crafts, etc. in and organized. I used them in a 3″ notebook and it wasn’t big enough. Our church has changed its system for teaching and they don’t need me anymore, so I will probably get rid of the information. However, I will keep this pockets. They are really good, colorful, and sturdy. I am sure I will find other projects to use them for.

I’ve bought these a few times over the last 18 months and LOVE them. The colors are great. They are helpful. Stuffy. Perfectly sized. Stay closed. When I run out I will buy them again. I also bought a couple sets for my mom who is a teacher as well. We use them a lot and none have broken. Even when the toddler plays with them and puts his own stuff inside they still have held together.
