Now in 2024, I am remodeling my bathroom(s), and thought I’d have to unsweat the pipe from the fitting, to put in a longer pipe, since I am tiling the walls, too. THIS TOOL WORKS! Great Tool! Better Price!

😫 It’s the worst ever, it made my job way match longer and more effort, do not buy this tool, instead, I used engle grinder to cut the o ring, it took me 10 seconds to remove it, but with this tool it took 30 sweating minutes toremove it, I wish I can return it but it’s too late.

I am very new to diy home projects so I was starting from scratch. This works even better than I expected. It pulls out the nut without having to use a lot of elbow grease. I don’t have a lot of hand strength so I really appreciate that the handle is large enough to hold easily and really get a good grip.

I did the first two by meticulously sawing the washer then breaking it (tricky because you can’t score the pipe). Then I got this tool. EUREKA! Good things: 1) It pulled every one with no fuss. 2) It has not damaged/burred the end of the pipes. All I’ve had to do is clean off the corrosion and they’re good to go 3) My last fixture didn’t have enough clearance to spin the handles on the tool. But it turns out you can also turn the base of the tool with a wrench. It was slower, but it worked.Make sure you deburr the inside of the supply line so that the plunger fits correctly.

Easily removes the compression ferrule from a toilet or sink water supply line so you can replace the shutoff valve and also replace the ferrule. Saw it demonstrated by a person on Youtube and figured I had to have one. When you have house with a lot of plumbing fixtures, sooner or later, you will likely need this tool or be stuck trying to re-use the old ferrule on a new valve, which might not work. Better to use a new ferrule for the new valve.

Operation is dead simple. Just thread it onto the existing nut behind the ferrule, place the silver bit against the end of the pipe and it will pull the ferrule off without damaging the copper pipe.

Great idea and a well designed tool that makes it easy.

the “bar” used to turn the unit is pretty small and painful if its on tight. the 2nd time i used it 1 of the 2 bar “handles” broke off.

This tool worked fine, but the threads on the one I received were not good. I could not get a new compression nut(DAHL brand) (I was checking out the tool before I used it) to thread more than about one turn before it would bind up. It really doesn’t matter when used but it would be nice to be able to screw it in by hand without tools. Other than that it was easy to use and worked as designed.

BTW I’m a DIY’er. I would highly recommend this tool or one like it if you’re dealing with 1/2″ pipe with compression fittings already installed.

UPDATE: I was looking to replace another valve, but this tool was too long to fit. So if clearance might be a issue you might want to look into low profile tools.
