Easy to use, well-designed, very high quality, and a value ~ worth the extra expense over cheaper models. With care I can see this lasting a very long time.
My only nit is not the fault of Fellowes, but youโll want to know this … I bought some store brand 1โ binder combs at a well-known office store … get it, office? Anyway, their combs DO NOT FIT this machine! Theyโre just a bit small in space between the 19 loops.
I thought that Iโd be limited to only the Fellowes world of comb binding, but on a hunch I thought of several presentations in my library that were done 10-15+ years ago โ by different people in different parts of the US. I tried them out and ALL of those old comb-bound presentations in different sizes fit PERFECTLY on my new Fellowes machine! I have no idea if all of them used Fellowes combs, but the only binder combs out of step in this group were the store brand ones!!
I have many copies to make and bind, and my ideal comb size according to the handy measuring tool is 7/8โ. Canโt find that size on Amazon, so I guess Iโll go 1โ.
Other than all that, this is a great machine. One last thing – I use 24 lb. paper, and I figure about 12 sheets is good. A bit more than that and you can tell the cutter is starting to strain. Oh, itโll go through them, but I want this thing to last a long time so Iโll Baby it and cut fewer sheets each time. Also no problem cutting the thick cardboard outer covers if you need those.
If youโre in a busy office and need maximum sheets per cut, maybe thereโs a more expensive version, but for light to medium binding I think youโll be very happy with the Quasar+ 500.

Well constructed and worth the extra money. Arrived on time, I’m happy

This is a good sturdy machine. I like the feel of it.
It punches easily without jamming.
Do make a few practice tests. Make sure that the pages to be punched fit in the slot loosely and that they are all the way down and to the left. I had to re-do some pages that punched on the edge.
Fitting the pages on the binder tabs can be a little tricky for a first timer.
All in all, I’m well pleased with the machine

I used this binder to put together life story booklets of my four daughters (5 copies of each) that I printed off so each of us could have a story. Some of the stories were only 20 pages and some 35 and some 43. This binder worked very well. I used clear plastic for the front and the back and put a firmer back page inside the plastic back. The binder was able to cut into the plastic to make holes and into multiple sheets of paper to make the holes. I cut maybe 8-10 pages at a time. And then the binding of them was easy! My only difficulty was trying to figure out the directions to put the plastic binders on the machine near the prongs so I had to fiddle a bit, but once I got that, it was fine so overall this binder is awesome and easy-to-use! I did 20 booklets normal paper-size and the binder looks and acts like new! I highly recommend this machine.

I used this to make Praise Song books it was very easy and you could go from punching the holes to immediately put it in the binders so the pages stayed together the entire time the only thing better would be to punch all 50 pages at once

Tengo mas de un aรฑo usando el artรญculo, es de excelente calidad y no me ha fallado, me cuesta trabajo perforar hojas media carta pero supongo que es por que no es el peso completo de la hoja completa tamaรฑo carta.

Love it. This has saved me a lot of money for getting others to bind documents. Very easy to use.

This Fellowes Binding Machine is really great. I can punch 25 sheets of 20lb paper with ease. This product is much better than the cheap one that I bought earlier. However, it was more than double the price (you get what you pay for). I bound 25 books so far without a problem. I really like the slide button from cover to letter size. It is a sturdy well-built machine. Most places wanted a lot more for this machine, some were double in price. Amazon is defiantly the best price for this binder.
The only complaint is that the combs are hard to place on the comb teeth, especially the smaller sizes. However, that would not keep me from buying this machine again. I have several products from fellowes. I have a laminator, shredder, automatic hole punch, and now this binder. This is another good product from fellowes.

I purchased this so that I can print and bind market analysis booklets for my seller clients (I am a realtor) because I did not want to repeatedly go into the office during the pandemic. I was used to a much more expensive, heavy-duty binder at my office, and needed a binder that would produce crisp punctures, could handle several sheets at a time, and make those binding holes in the exact same place every time. This machine absolutely does the trick! Not only that, the cover folds down to hide the ‘mechanical’ look of the machine and fits into my home office space really well. A GREAT product at an Even Better Price! Love it!

This is a low tech, easy to use home type machine for light projects. I wish it could punch more but hey, if you take your time, it does a good job.

Learning curve is simple but you have to be accurate and stay on course. Do your cover and backing sheets first to avoid having a 1/4 inch variance at the end. Make sure you have not moved the page from the right side to the left side in aligning pages before you punch them and keep it to less than 10 pages.
If we had one wish on this machine it would be that the variance on it permitted us to punch something deeper and slightly longer.
We are finding ways to consolidate documents and reference material that is better for our business and for clients.

I bought the binding machine after I returned a horizontal punching machine. This is a vertical punching machine. I’ve used many types of binding machines and I prefer vertical punching machines. This is a very sturdy machine. It’s got some heft to it. It’s works great. I don’t have to guess if I have the paper in far enough before punching. The punching lever is very sturdy. I like the lid that covers the front of the machine and protects everything.
Please note that vertical punching machines are more expensive than horizontal punching machine. I don’t understand why, but they are. After doing a lot of research and price comparisons, I got this one. This is a very basic, entry level binding machine and it cost $200. This was the cheapest vertical punching machine I could find. The price only goes up from here. There’s also not a lot of manufacturers of vertical punching machines.
