Both my wife and I have Fitbit Charge2’s. Both of our bands failed in exactly the same way within a month of each other. She got the spare band that came with my Charge2 (hers failed first) so I had to order one from Amazon.
The bands are genuine fitbit, with the same quality as the original band. Because the Charge3 is out now accessories for the Charge2 are really hard to find now. I expect that by the time these bands fail we’ll be throwing our fitbits away and buying new ones since they require special bands. That’s the only downside, really – the Charge2 is otherwise a great device.
EDIT 2019/03/08 – This replacement band failed in exactly the same way as the others after only a few months so I ordered cheaper off-brand replacements instead of paying the premium for a Fitbit branded replacement.

This is identical to the first strap I had. I could have purchased a cheaper strap but I knew how long my first original watch band lasted so wanted to stay with Fitbit brand. It is great. Very comfortable. The only drawback is that it didn’t come in blue!

After just a few months the band would not stay attached to my Fitbit and popped off easily so that I dropped my Fitbit a number of times, including not realizing it fell onto my driveway when I got home. I was disappointed by the lack of quality for the price. I recently purchased a different replacement band for half the price that at least initially seems to attach more securely.

This band is sturdy and not very flexible but typical of every other Fitbit band I’ve purchased, EVER, it broke at the attachment points after just a little over 2 months… and they’ve raised the price on it! The plastic around the metal attachment points literally crumbled when I was charging it. Until Fitbit decides to make a decent band that is not plastic around the attachment area none of their bands are worth buying. I’ve given up on Fitbit. Have had about eight of them and every single one has had the same exact issue. It’s a complete waste of money.

Buying a genuine Fitbit replacement band was totally worth the slightly higher cost compared to cheaper “knock-off” bands. It took me months to find a genuine Small replacement band since Fitbit no longer sold Charge 2 accessories when (one side of) my original black band broke. The tracker still worked, so I didn’t want to spend money on an whole new device when I only needed a replacement band.
I tried the cheap, fake bands; those bands didn’t fit well at all. Plus, the bands had extremely difficult clasps that made sliding the band off from the main Fitbit component nearly impossible once attached.
If you have a very thin wrist, like me, even the genuine small Fitbit band isn’t a perfect fit.
Nevertheless, this real Fitbit band is much, much better fit than the stiffer, rougher plastic used in the cheaper unofficial bands. The material is much smoother and bends (curves) more closely to the FitBit tracker when attached. The bands also slide on and off easily, as I expected, if I press the clasps.
It was a relief to get this replacement band!
