Install is super easy – I’ve replaced many toilet parts like the fill valve and flapper but was never confident about removing the tank. But there’s a YouTube video fluidmaster made and the booklet is very helpful instructions. I was able to replace a leaking tank gasket on a Sterling toilet made by Kohler. This particular type of toilet Uses a three bolt triangle shaped black gasket that is hard to find and not included in most kits – But this kit has it covered with gaskets for every single type of toilet!! Changed the tank gasket, flush valve and flapper – the whole tank is all new parts and no more ghost flush!!!!
(I had annoying internal leak (ghost flush) that was driving me crazy – it Turned out that the tank gasket had worn out probably from using bleach tablets or due to hard water and age – I tried changing the flapper before this and that didn’t help the ghost flash) but all good now. Had it all done in 30 minutes! Hand tightened only – the plastic tools they provided really helped!!! Prevents you from accidentally over tightening from using a wrench
Update – did a second kohler toilet too! This one the bolts had corroded to the point a puddle had formed under the toilet probably again due to bleach tablets or hard water but I think the original parts were cheaply made. Anyway this kit worked perfect once again. As someone else mentioned too the green tool had a hard time reaching the back bolt from underneath on a kohler 3 bolt system as part of the toilet sticks out – I used the same trick and as the other person mentioned and used a reciprocating saw to cut the green tool in half and it worked then to tighten that last toilet bolt. I have an intact green tool from the previous kit I used so now I have a short green tool for reaching that back bolt. removing the old gasket was the hardest part – i used a scissor to cut it and it came out in pieces and then I was able to get to large plastic flapper nut with the red tool and unscrew it. Make sure to hand tighten only all connections and bolts.
Some people are saying its loud when filling – tip: just slow down the fill rate using the blue valve/screw on the fill valve – the default is wide open and it fills too fast and too loud, slow it down and now it fills quietly at the same rate as before.

This kit (even though I didn’t need everything in it) likely saved me a bunch of money.
I had a leaking inlet valve (the one that is usually to the left or right of the inside of the tank, not the center part). The valve is connected to the water inlet hose and when you flush the toilet, water drains from the tank, and the float on the valve falls, which causes water to come in until the float reaches a certain level, which then turns the water “off”. My valve became faulty after 14 years and was allowing water to come into the tank nonstop.
I bought the kit thinking I would just replace the whole kit n kaboodle of the insides of the tank, but I ended up just needing the tools (VERY handy to have) and the inlet valve. If I ever have issues with the stopper mechanism in the center of the tank, I have that on hand now.
It was so easy!! I turned off the water to the tank and drained the tank. I used the included tool to unscrew the plastic nut from under the outside of the tank which holds the inlet valve in place, disconnected the valve from the other tank parts and removed it. Reversed that process with the new valve from the kit, and it fit perfectly and worked like a charm!
The cost of this kit can save you literally hundreds of dollars if you are at all DYI-able. I have never fixed anything regarding a toilet in my life except for the gasket that seals the water from leaving the tank. And this was super, super easy, took 20 minutes at most. Just follow the instructions that are included (or watch the video they refer to in the instructions) and I think most people will be fine.
I will say that the lever is really, and I mean really cheap. I didn’t replace the lever, because mine is metal and shows no corrosion at all. I s’pose if yours is rusting and looks bad, might as well change it out, but it’s just plastic.
They also include adapters for some toilet brands (which mine was, but did not require the adapters), as well as a new hose for overflow and other odds and ends. I’d bet this kit would work for 95% of all standard-ish toilets out there.
Good buy!

Its not made obvious in the description but this kit is appears to be for the USA/Canada as the 2″ size wont fit standard UK toilets. None of it is the right size. Unfortunately the positive review are mostly from abroad. It should flag in big letters that it does not fit in the UK, where the size is 1&1/2″ or thereabouts.

I picked it up for $25 and it’s a great deal at that price. Directions are clear and it has all the parts you need to completely redo your setup. The tools it comes with aren’t great but they work. I would recommend having a big flat head and maybe an adjustable wrench handy.
My toilet is an older Gerber toilet and everything fit well. If you have a gerber, flip the tank upside down when you install the gasket so you can make sure the black gasket is centered. I installed it on its side at first and the gasket wasn’t centered which made putting the red one difficult. Doing it from the top was much easier. No issues with any parts leaking, and all the adjustments work very well. The old set up had 0 adjustment, and I had to hold the handle down to flush it, it filled slow, low water level, and you could hear the fill valve bobbing open and closed for like a minute after it finished filling. Now it operates like a normal toilet.
I took off a star because 1) the rubber flapper was bent, so I had to take a heat gun to it to flatten it out which was a little annoying and 2) it does make a slightly annoying noise when filling. My toilet is definitely quieter, and you wouldn’t notice it if you weren’t paying attention. Just if you do, it’s just not the smoothest sound. But for $25 I can’t complain too much about the noise! I’d buy it again.

While these look similar to individual units sold locally, and on Amazon.co.uk, they are not the same. Both items in the pack are the wrong size to fit a standard toilet. I suspect that these are made for the American market as this pack is not shown on the Fluidmaster UK site

When working on toilets it is a good rule of thumb to replace everything on the tank. If one part fails the rest are following behind!
Very good kit with all the parts and well written instructions

I have had a Kohler toilet my main bathrooms for 20 years and the flapper went. I decided a rebuild was in order because the price of a similar toilet caused sticker shock. This kit had the proprietary gasket needed for Kohler so is was worth it just for that. Followed instructions and the repair went smoothly. No complaints.

I had an older toilet that had a three bolt set up. Other kits only came with two bolts. This kit was so easy to use included all the tools I needed, perfect job.
