I love this product, but you’re all being ripped off!

They sell this for roughly $10 for 6 POUNDS!! That’s approximately $0.10 per ounce where by this 11.5 Oz container at $3 costs approximately $0.26 per ounce. If you like overpaying, carry on, if not, read below!

Search for this “Fluker Labs SFK70008 High Calcium Cricket Feed, 6-Pound” and it will pop up. I hope you find this information helpful.

READ ON TO HEAR WHY CRICKETS STINK (LITERALLY) AND WHY DUBIA ROACHES ARE THE WAY TO GO!
I have used this product for a little over a year. I do not have crickets as I raise Dubia Roaches for all of my animals. The Dubias love this stuff. I simply mix this with fish flakes and the Dubias go nuts.

If you still use crickets, I am sorry for your animals and for you. Think of it like this, feeding your animals crickets is like feeding your children toast with crushed multivitamins sprinkled on top. Look up the benefits of Dubias and seriously consider switching. If you have a stigma that roaches are dirty, well, you simply don’t understand science. They don’t smell, and you are dirtier than they are. Roaches are extremely clean if you keep them that way. Roaches have the stigma of being dirty simply because they like dirty things, but on their own, they are very clean animals. If you’re worried about Dubias getting out in your house, look up on YouTube how to make a setup. In the past 20 years, I have transferred thousands of Dubias from their holding tank to the terrariums of my animals and not a single one has ever escaped. Best part, they are tropical roaches and will not be able to survive in the cold (temperatures below 78°F).

When I had crickets(they were gone within a month), I would find them all over the house and they smell awful when they die. Dubias have no smell. Their food smells more then them. Beyond the smell, Dubias live for 2 years, crickets live 3 months tops! The amount of protein in Dubias is significantly higher than crickets, and beyond that, the ratio of shell to meat is better in Dubias. Crickets do not have much meat on them, and your animals have to eat a lot of them to get their protein. Dubias have a soft shell and much more meat. I have my habitats so natural that I am able to leave Dubias inside my animals cages overnight. I wouldn’t dare doing so with a cricket because they bite. Dubias can’t bite and they would much rather run and hide. I like this because my animals get to ‘hunt’ for their food. You will find what works for you. With my chameleons I have to hand feed Dubia, yet with my bearded/water dragons, all my Geckos (gargoyle, giant day, leopard), all my tarantulas, all my scorpions, I am able to place a few Dubias in each habitat and let the animals roam and hunt and eat when they want, the way nature intended. Making a habitat as natural as can be should be your first priority when keeping exotic animals.

Overall, be smart about how you spend your money on products for your reptiles. There are tons of money grab products out there, and this is one of them if you buy it in this small quantity.

Unless you breed your crickets, you’re throwing money out the window constantly buying them. I haven’t bought roaches in years as they breed and reproduce on their own IF certain conditions are being met (dark, 88°F, 50-70% RH).

GOOD LUCK! I’ve been keeping reptiles and amphibians for over 25 years, so I hope I have shed some light on new ideas.

I can’t speak to the flavor of this cricket food based on first-hand knowledge! LOL. The crickets seemed to love it. It’s a good value, priced about the same as my pet food store, but it was shipped to my door so it saved me time and gas money.

You need your live feeders to be healthy to keep your main keeper healthy. This food helps. Adds calcium to your keeper.

I feel the crickets being excited to eat this, it has to be good! I really like using this and giving my cricket feeder great nutrition before it goes into the tummy of my pets. Great supplement accompanied by apple, banana, pumpkin 👍🏻

If you breed feeder insects like crickets, roaches, mealworms, or superworms, or if you buy in bulk, this cricket food a must. At 12-13 dollars dollars for a 6 pound jar, the value is unbeatable. It costs half as much as buying the smaller containers of flukers cricket food.

As for the cricket food itself, it’s great. My crickets love it, and I have very few dead crickets showing up in the cage. There is some leftover substance that the crickets don’t eat, but it’s not much. If you feed your crickets too much, they tend to become picky and leave more of the scrap behind. This is a complete, calcium-fortified cricket diet so you can give your crickets this plus water and leave it at that. Super simple. This stuff is gut-loading food, meaning your reptiles or amphibians will get lots of nutrients from eating insects that are fed with this food. I’ve heard it also works well for dubia roaches and mealworms.

I breed crickets and I’m still not even a quarter of the way through this jar after several months. But it’s staying fresh, so no worries about that here. I definitely recommend this product if you breed or buy feeder insects in bulk.

Crickets eat it up and its good for my Gecko when she eats them. Cant tell if meal worms eat it or not as its hard to tell on their oatmeal bedding but l would think they do.

I like this brand of insect food, and it works well for my use. I mix this in the meal to fatten up the worms before feeding time. Works for me so far. Good purchase and I will buy again
