Happy fish Aquarium dude –
Ce n’est pas mon premier aquarium Fluval Vista. Aquarium d’une grande qualité. Coins avant arrondis et sans cadre. Lumière à deux couleurs d’une belle brillance. Très bon achat.
Hook’s Hollands –
FINALLY, an aquarium that is truly an all-in-one kit, made well, and looks great! I recently purchased this as my 10th aquarium, and it is definitely one of my favorites. All you need to purchase is your substrate (I used UNS Controsoil), decorations (purchased live plants and ohko dragon stone online), and fish!
DIMENSIONS:
24″ wide
15″ deep (including filter on back)
16.75″ tall (including filter slightly above aquarium lid)
PROS:
-Large 16 gallon capacity
-Quality AquaClear hang-on-back filter with three types of filtration (many filters lack bio media, but not this one)
-QUIET FILTER! (AquaClear filters are known to start a bit noisily but quiet down as they break in, but all I hear is trickling water)
-Included Fluval heater (ADJUSTABLE temperature)
-Hinged lid for easy cleaning and maintenance
-Hinged feeding door at front
-Removable back lid panel for filter and heater cord (could also fit tubing for CO2 injection, etc)
-LED lighting that has several touch settings (day, day w/ blue, night)
-Light works on a timer (sold separately…bought a Woods brand digital timer on Amazon)
-Curved front sides
-Thick glass, aquarium packaged well in the box and shipped in an outer container with styrofoam too
-Sustains low/medium light plants like anubias, java fern, saggitarius, aponogetons, monte carlo, and more
-No rear sump compartments that are difficult to clean. Rinse your filter sponge and bio media, replace carbon bag after a couple months, and you’re good!
-Bottom plastic frame means you don’t need to purchase a leveling mat for your aquarium
CONS:
-Clear rear glass. This is my only real complaint. If Fluval would smoke the rear glass panel to camouflage the wires, this tank would be pretty much perfection.
-Curved sides distort the view a bit but looks nicer than a silicone seam
-LED light is close to the water and subject to condensation…not certain how long it will last or how much it will cost to replace.
Before purchasing, I compared (for hours) this aquarium with others such as Fluval’s Flex and new Spec 16 gallon, but both of those have a rear sump that takes away space for the fish and makes cleaning difficult. Yes, you do see the Vista filter and heater, but these can be hidden partially with rocks or plants (REAL plants, not fake ones…unless you’re into that). Many other aquariums of similar capacity lacked the high-end features like a lid or a hinged lid, LED lighting, had silicone seams on the front, poor lighting for plants, and the list goes on. In my opinion, the Vista is Fluval’s best tank yet (I have a Spec III and dislike it), yet the Vista is largely ignored in their lineup in favor of their Spec and Flex series. Call me old-school, but the Vista checks pretty much every box on a fish-keeper’s list and doesn’t break the bank either.
FWIW: Other aquariums I own include an Innovative Marine Nuvo Black 30 gallon (my favorite aesthetically, but comes with no lid or light), Cobalt C-Vue 18 (huge sump that wastes space, no light), two Imagitarium 3.7, two Aqueon Tri-Scape 3 gallons (cheap-o), Aqueon Ascent 6 gallon (fragile lid), Fluval Spec III (cumbersome rear sump, hot light), a Dennerle 10 gallon Scaper’s Tank, and this Fluval Vista 16 gallon (second favorite aquarium).
**UPDATE**
I’ve since added a betta sorority (six betta females) to my Vista aquarium and purchased a second 16 gallon Vista for our family room (see final picture). If you plan to create a betta sorority in this size aquarium, I highly recommend a TON of live plants, especially on the surface. I had to put two of the girls in breeder boxes for a week so they would settle down. Still quite pleased with this aquarium!

Love it. Gorgeous aquarium ! I purchased a few aquariums In the past and this is my favorite.
Hook’s Hollands –
Excellent looking tank (my water is still cloudy), and appears well made. All the set up equipment is nice, but Fluval does a poor job of making their conditioner and enhancer easy to measure. Filter works well and is quiet. Light is good, but push button on lid is just ok.

Tank arrived securely packaged and was crystal clear in perfect condition. Upon setting up, I thought that the transformer adapter for the hood light was missing, even though I checked the box. I messaged the seller and they responded the same evening stating to recheck the box packaging material since it might be mixed in. They also said to contact them again if it wasn’t there, so I believe they were prepared to send me a replacement if needed. Sure enough, there it was mixed in with the packaging paper and styrofoam. I had missed seeing it. A great seller experience and a perfect tank for our family needs. I would absolutely purchase from the seller again. Fluval always has well made, solid, crystal clear products. I’m still a happy fish aquarium dude
Liliane –
Very nice tank, beautiful curved edges. somehow the filter does not work probably. It is no powerful enough. One fish died. This is only good for someone who wants to keep small fishes in office. I returned this product.
Angela MC –
Expected a Fluval filter with the Fluval aquarium. Very cheap filter/pump. Had to purchase another locally.

The 16 gallon Vista tank kit was difficult to find. Local shops had been attempting to locate the kits, but they were on back order for months. I needed that tank size to fit on my antique stand made of rare, wormy chestnut wood. (Yes, I went against suggestions to use a sturdy metal stand. I reinforced the inside of the antique with a lot of lumber.) The tanks panoramic, bent glass design is sensational and three dimensional. It is truly a beautiful tank; however water accumulates on the underside of the hood, including all over the LED lights. I attempted to contact the manufacturer about the problem, but received no response.

****EDIT****
Love the fish tank but the seller refused to replace the light bulb in the hood. Messaged the seller in December, not long after we purchased the set-up. The seller won’t back the product and is referring us to the manufacturer. Any decent seller would aid in ensuring defective parts are replaced within the warranty window.
The tank is worth the money if you have a small space that you want to enhance with fish. We purchased this tank for our son’s birthday and it was his first tank (not mine – have had many over the years).
PROS
1) Pretty quiet, waterfall sounds expected with the filter, not annoying
2) Great quality Aquaclear filter, slightly oversized for the tank, which is best practice
3) Seams are invisible as it is a bow-front tank
4) Fish feeder slot is nice and no need to pop the whole tank lid open to feed
5) Light is great for plants – we purchased some floating plants and they’ve exploded in growth
6) Set-up came with supplemental bacteria for the tank, which was really nice – can put fish in immediately
CONS
1) Lighting on lid is nice looking when closed but does seem to gather a lot of condensation
2) Because filter is powerful, you will probably need to place some mesh over the filter intake at the bottom – lost a small neon tetra when I didn’t have mesh covering the intake – rookie mistake on my part, but had been a while since I had a tank
All in all, is an awesome tank – would recommend to anyone that is experienced keeping a smaller tank.

This is 2nd fluval 23 gallon I’ve purchased and I love them for their stylish look and overall quality. The only disappointing thing is that the aquaclear filter, that’s supposed to be included, wasn’t in the box. It was easy enough to buy one from Amazon.

My biggest problem was with the seller I purchased from. One Fish Two Fish based out of Dartmouth. They were not helpful at all. Also the filter does not work. Rather than jump through all the hoops they wanted me to, to resolve the problem with my filter. I went to a box pet store and got a new one there.
