I need to modify my original review as I came to learn that there is indeed a setting for audio output that you must enable if you want to run the audio through the AUX connection in your vehicle’s factory audio connection. Once I did that, I was able to connect the audio thorugh the vehicle and enjoy my music and audio books through the stereo system in the car, which to me is the only way you want to use it unless you are using this as a stand alone device not in the car.
It does connect quickly and automatically loads into android auto for quick access to maps and music. There is a little bit of clutter with the cords involved, and the screen is not as big as you might hope for but all in all I think it’s a good device if you just want to set up some basic bluetooth capabilities to your car. I used on a recent roadtrip and it served me well.
I was pretty excited about adding this an an accessory to my 2015 Ram Truck, which doesn’t have an Android Audio or Carplay enabled stereo. The additional screen space for navigation alone would be awesome. Thenpackage and presentation of the unit is great, and there are even quick start videos accessible via QR code to make setting everything up easily. It’s pretty much just a power cable to the unit, a Bluetooth connection to the phone (which was seemless) and an auction Audio connection to your vehicle to pipe the Audio into your car’s Audio system.
The issue I had when I tried the initial set up was that the audio would not come over via the aux connection. It’s suppose to just comebthrough automatically when you connect it. The car’s stereo is clearly in aux mode, but the unit only has audio coming through its own little speakers, which just aren’t anywhere loud enough to hear clearly in a vehicle. Not for music, at least. I thought maybe it was just a setting on the unit, but there wasn’t anything obvious that I could find. I will have to keep troubleshooting this but needless to day, it was a big disappointment. Especially because I was setting it up to head out on a long road trip at the time and had to just abandon trying to use the device. Maybe it’s something I am doing wrong or maybe I just got a defective unit but not sure it will work for me.

This CarPlay play box is very poorly made. The built in speakers are visible through the back of it, but only 1 of them is outputting any sound. The lone operating speaker is okay at very low volume, but once it’s a reasonable volume to use while driving it sounds terrible. The volume is very difficult to manipulate while driving. The brightness does NOT update automatically, and is impossible to safely manipulate while driving. I’ve used it for less than 2 hours and it has randomly disconnected 2 times.
Wireless CarPlay is very laggy (this is normal for wireless CarPlay) and there is no option to plug in your phone for wired CarPlay.
The FM audio transmission is very weak and leads to a lot of static in the audio.
On the positive side, the screen looks very nice and the form factor would be excellent if it had buttons for brightness and volume, and if the speakers were passable at all.

The media could not be loaded.
Amazing device that was very easy to set up. The connectivity to my iPhone as well as my mother’s android via its WiFi and/or Bluetooth. The quality of the screen and audio is superior. The audio can remain on the device’s speakers or you can quickly plug in the aux cord, that is included, to your vehicle to use those speakers. The device’s touchscreen is responsive immediately just like your phone. Screen size is perfect and highly visible while driving. I have purchased other devices which the others unfortunately lag, this device does not lag at all it is marvelous.

I think this product fills a niche really well in terms of features but fails to completely capitalize on it. The designers really took into account several things that are important, such as: boot time, display quality, etc. But the product misses on the most major thing it should have excelled at, which is phone call quality.
The built in microphone has gotten poor ratings from people who I asked to describe the call quality, and I don’t see a way to attach a 3rd party microphone either. Listening to voice calls on the device speakers is OK, though a bit distorted at higher volumes, which is a theme with this device. If you’re running the aux to your car speakers, then audio output should be better, but I haven’t tested that.
It really excels at multimedia features, and the included SD card slot is a nice bonus.
Pros:
1. Turns on very fast, including CarPlay.
2. Speaker can get sufficiently loud, but loses clarity the higher it gets. As is typical with devices in this tier, there’s very little bass.
3. Display is bright, vibrant, has good viewing angles.
4. Display swiveling up and down is a great touch.
5. Lots of multimedia features.
6. Built solidly, feels high quality.
Cons:
1. Poor-quality built-in microphone, no option to attach a separate mic.
2. Speaker degrades at high volume.
