I finally got around to using this and WOW!
Directions were very clear and it did exactly what i needed it to do. Takes a long time to freeze so don;t expect this to be a “Same day” activity unless you plan ahead. Churned the ice cream pretty quickly and my kids loved getting involved. Will be using this again this weekend!

Reviewing Ice Cream Maker & Shaved Ice Attachment for Kitchen aid Mixer, I am very impressed with these attachments! They are great for summer treats. Both are very easy to use, with the shaved ice maker being the easiest, obviously.
They are quick to install and it’s easy to find the recipes you need for the ice cream or the syrup if you want to make your own for the snow cones. Nothing is included in terms of making your own.
I have the 4.5Qt Kitchen Aid and both attachments work perfectly. I am not sure why they did not include any recipes at this price point. That’s a little disappointing. Removing one star for that.

This is a set of a shaved ice attachment and an ice cream maker attachment made to work with KitchenAid stand mixers, from Fortheal. I love making homemade ice cream, but my standalone ice cream maker takes up a lot of space. And my husband loves popsicles and ice in general, so I figured he’d like the shaved ice maker. Both attachments come neatly packed in one box, and each has its own instruction manual. I needed to get ice cream ingredients, so I ended up trying the shaved ice maker first. I filled the little cups and froze them to make the ice pucks that get inserted into the shaver. At first I had a little difficulty getting the spring loaded thing attached, and then I realized it was designed to only fit a particular way, and I didn’t have it lined up right. Duh. Once I did it right, it worked fine, and I made a couple of bowls and topped them with flavored syrup. It’s a very fun treat for hot weather! I will say it kind of seemed like my mixer was not liking this attachment too much though. I didn’t have any actual problems, it just seemed like it was struggling. Anyway, a couple of weeks later I finally got my ingredients and got to try the ice cream attachment. I had frozen the bowl, so it was all set to go. The paddle install seemed like an odd system, but it worked great with not one single hitch. And about 20 minutes later, I had absolutely perfect French vanilla ice cream. Like all ice cream makers, it comes out sort of like soft serve, and if you want it harder you put it in a container and freeze it for a bit. The ice cream was great, and the ice cream maker was a huge hit! I recommend this set for anyone who has a KitchenAid stand mixer and wants to make some cool treats.
