Overall, this was an excellent purchase. The unit is fairly noisy if you’re in the same room where it’s installed – even though the manufacturer claims it’s one of their quietest models. But you won’t complain when you experience the cool-down this beast provides. The unit quickly cooled our entire upstairs (kitchen, dining room and living room) so it goes beyond the 450 square feet it promotes. Love the energy saving mode, which turns the unit off when the desired temperature is achieved. The unit then goes back on after 10 minutes to check the temperature and keeps going if needed. The small remote is handy and easy to use. Solid build – installation manual is poorly written, but I figured out how to install on my own. The AC arrived a week before amazon said it would – just in time for a very hot day. Other reviewers from 2 years ago claimed the unit arrived damaged. Not in my case. Delivery guy knew exactly what he was doing to ensure no damage.

Finally, June 1 2023, unboxed and got to have this A/C installed by Sam the Handyman who did a good job for $295. Wasn’t there supposed to be a remote control with this machine? Fooled me. WE could not find it. Now what? Not a cheap little nothing of an A/C. You would think it would come with *all* it’s parts. I bought this sliding window air conditioner because the horizontal ones are a pane. I bought a Frigidaire last summer. Regular one. So, how do I get my remote? Eh? Unless you own a commercial grade air conditioner nothing – not even this 10,000 BTU – will cool down an apartment in 90F/32C weather like we are experiencing since the end of May. Breaking all records. Colour me curious: I read where consumers complain that this machine is NOISY. Well, I am here to tell you that it is NOT NOISY at all. In fact it is so quiet I have to go check to see if it is actually running. (It is.) It’s a compressor, so of course if you are standing a foot away from it, you’ll hear it purr. My A/C is in the living room. My computer is in my home office. I can’t hear a thing. It’s great little machine. Invest. It isn’t going to be 90F forever. My handyman said, “It’s a beauty.” No kidding, eh? Now, it’s about that Remote Control… ๐Ÿ™

Very good AC that cools my 2 bedroom condo – on low. I don’t need to increase the it to medium or high… amazing product.

We were fortunate enough to receive this unit in excellent condition, unlike some reviewers who got busted machines. It looks good… no dents or dings. More importantly it works well.

I have zero heat tolerance due to medications that render me unable to sweat. I am also on supplemental oxygen (gee, thanks Covid!) and find it harder to breathe in the heat. My room has a scorching western exposure and gets uncomfortably hot even on mild days. On truly hot days it’s unbearable and I crawl out to the couch to sleep.

No more. This machine is a beast. It cools a large bedroom with windows on the west side in triple digit heat. In fact, a lava lamp running directly across from it got so cold that it stopped flowing! In here, I am like a polar bear happily wallowing in the snow while everything outside bakes.

It’s not perfect. As others have mentioned, it is a bit loud. However, it’s nothing I can’t sleep through, even as a light sleeper. It sounds like a box fan on high. The white noise is actually preferable to the sound of train whistles, sirens and construction that really bothered me before.

The remote is handy, especially for someone with limited mobility.

The unit was a pain to install. It’s really heavy and you NEED a proper support bracket outside to safely hold it. We also have a jury-rigged solution in place until we can get some thick Plexiglas cut to fill the void between the unit and the top of the window (our window is just a little too tall to accommodate the plastic insert, which is flimsy anyway). However, once we have it completely set up I will edit to add pics.

There aren’t a ton of choices for sliding window AC units, but this one is solid. You might have to get creative with installation or hire a handyman if you canโ€™t do it yourself. It’s quieter than some of the other options. As for its function–cooling your space–it really excels. That’s what matters most. The other stuff is minor by comparison.

My 25+ year old bedroom AC died an ignominious death, leaving me gasping for air in the middle of a Southern California heatwave. I must say, I was put out!

Anyone would have needed relief, and I happen to have a medical issue that makes air conditioning a necessity, so I did some quick research, called around, and realized that no local places had the casement air conditioner I needed. Amazon promised to deliver it sooner than anyone else, so here we are.

As expected, it fit into the same window arrangement as my last casement AC. No problems with installation, and my tears of relief didnโ€™t delay things by too much.

First off, let me say that coming from a super old AC that put out cold air and did nothing else, I was immediately struck by the comparative luxury of this model: a remote, temperature controls, sleep functions! Heavens, I really did enter the 21st century!

    I like it here.

Being able to adjust temp and/or fan strength from my bed felt like the height of luxury, and the energy saver mode was clearly effective. I loved being able to turn it off as I left the house, but set it to turn on a while before I got home, so I could enter a blessedly cool room. Itโ€™s a bit weird for it to tell me when to clean the filter, but I am obedient each time, hoping to keep this machine in tip top shape for years to come.

The remote is fine. I wouldnโ€™t mind a display, like the one I have in the other room, but this has enough options that I can do what I need.

Itโ€™s as loud as any other window AC, and no louder. I wonder if those complaining about the noise have ever dealt with window units. Maybe theyโ€™re more used to whole house systems?

Casement units are expensive. This is a reasonably priced unit for the type.

This air conditioner works great so far in my kitchen window! I have a 940sq ft house and this cools off my entire main floor especially my living room and kitchen since it’s all open concept. My bathroom and 3 bedrooms down the hall way don’t get cooled as much ofcourse but it definitely helps a bit! Have had this unit for only 4 days so far. My only complaint is that it did come a wee bit dented and cracked. Not super obvious and still does the trick. I’m also surprised the metal piece that holds this 80-90lb air conditioner in the window isn’t made of a thicker metal.
But it seems to be holding well so I’m happy!

This is the 2nd one of these units I’ve bought and they are worth the $. The first one lasted 14 years and survived several cross country moves. I was sad when the compressor locked up on my old one earlier this summer but I didn’t hesitate to buy this one since the old one worked so well for so long. As far as noise goes it’s not any louder than you’d expect for a 10,000btu air conditioner. It blows really cold and cools very well here in the Las Vegas 110ยฐplus summer days. Having the casement style is nice since you don’t have to open the window as far and this one is actually in my kitchen window and works great cooling the kitchen dining and living rooms so the main a/c unit doesn’t have to run all the time. Works great on energy saver mode, it shuts off when it gets to set temp and runs for 1 min every so often just to circulate air and measure ambient air temp. VERY PLEASED with this unit even though it’s kinda pricey. Was worried about it having damage from shipping but only the cardboard box was beat up. Had a few slightly bent condenser fins but a small pocket screwdriver straightened them up just ๐Ÿ™‚
Now you have my honest 2 cents.

I bought the product with very low price but it fits my window just perfectly and very easy to install myself. Work like charm. Noise level is low and it cools down my large kitchen very well. Highly recommend.
