Sheree –
I recently purchased the Frigidaire EFRF696-AMZ Upright Freezer and I am extremely impressed with its performance and design. This freezer is part of the Stainless Platinum Design Series, which gives it a sleek and modern look that complements any kitchen decor.
Firstly, I was impressed with the amount of space that this freezer offers. With 6.5 cu ft of storage capacity, there is plenty of room to store all of my frozen foods and more. The shelves are not adjustable.
The freezer is also incredibly efficient and keeps my food at a consistent temperature. The Frost-Free feature eliminates the need for manual defrosting, which saves me time and hassle. The temperature controls are easy to use and allow me to adjust the temperature as needed.
I also appreciate the design of the Frigidaire EFRF696-AMZ. The Stainless Platinum finish gives it a stylish and modern look that stands out in my kitchen. The reversible door design allows me to choose which side the door opens from, which is a convenient feature that makes it easy to access the freezer from any direction.
Finally, the Frigidaire EFRF696-AMZ is a high-quality freezer that is built to last. The construction feels sturdy and well-made, and I feel confident that it will continue to perform well for years to come.
Overall, I highly recommend the Frigidaire EFRF696-AMZ Upright Freezer to anyone who is looking for a high-quality and stylish freezer. Its efficient performance and modern design make it a great investment for any kitchen or storage area.
Wodin Toothpick –
It sat for 2 days upright before I removed the carton indoors by removing staples along the vertical seam of cardboard carton edge, cut tape on top flaps.
The carton opened up to easily slide away allowing me to slide freezer into its space.
The bottom of freezer is not bolted into the shipping base as done in larger appliances.
The protective packaging in my opinion was well done. It arrived undamaged, door seal is tight, requiring two hands to open. That’s a good thing. I’m happy the hinges are on the right side of door.
I let freezer sit overnight. The next morning I powered it up. It cooled to 0 within about an hour. I always use appliance thermometers to monitor temps. I will load it with ice now and wait a week before loading with food. Three of the 2mil 5 lb ice bags with drawstrings fits perfectly on a shelf.
It holds quite a bit more food than my mid sized fridge’s freezer.
I have had a few huge chest deep freezers and they work but I never liked digging for packages, especially when it is not frost free. For me it’s upright freezers from now on.
I do update my reviews on larger purchases, so if my 5 Stars changes I’ll be back with info.
It is attractive and the look fits right in my kitchen. I’ll have to use it for awhile.

It’s a Frigidaire, living up to its name. I’ve had it for several months now, works great. Good partitions and shelvings, very good cooling, capacity is good for a family of 4-6.

This upright freezer is perfect for small spaces as a second freezer. The upright models are so much easier to organize food and to get food in and out of. The chest freezers force you to stack stuff and it’s a major pain to see what you have in there or get stuff on the bottom without taking everything out. The shelves are evenly spaced and this freezer will provide plenty of space for a family of 4 that wants an extra freezer. This will not hold large racks of meat or huge bages of ice.
The shelves are not removable, but that’s because there are cold air coils built into the shelves. This is by design to give even cooling throughout the unit as there is no fan inside to circulate cold air.
Also, the freezer does NOT have a LED light as the specifications say. This was a minor disappointment, and not a deal-breaker for an otherwise nice little freezer. But c’mon, why does it say it has a light when it doesn’t?
Installation was a breeze. This freezer is actually quite light. My wife and I had no problem bringing it down a flight of stairs. And it moves very easily on its rear wheels. The door is reversible if you so choose. That’s why the pull handle is on the top of the door, which some people have complained about. It’s designed that way to be ambidextrous. The door opens easily, and if it’s properly leveled it’ll stay open. When it’s closed, the door suctions a bit to stay closed and sealed.
I recommend this freezer. I hope it lasts. Fridgedaire has a decent reputation, so I’m hoping this will last for 10+ years.

The freezer doesn’t cool when it was delivered it was left on the sidewalk laying down. The manufacturer says that would cause a problem with compressor.

I was originally drawn to this product due to the price, brand name and the fact that it would not take a year to actually have the item delivered. I read all the reviews and unfortunately I ignored the warnings and bought this mess.
The item arrived early and I moved it to the area I had set aside for it’s home. As I unpacked the freezer I noticed several areas of damage. I made sure that none of the damage had impacted the integrity of the freezer and based on my inspection the damage would not impact the freezers functions. Set the freezer, leveled it and let it sit for about an hour. After about an hour I set the temperature at the lowest level and waited another hour. Everything seemed to be working fine so I placed some specific items in the freezer that would not fit in my larger units.
Next morning I checked on the freezer and was pretty disappointed to see the entire unit filling up with frost and ice on every interior surface. This has all occurred in less then 12 hours. The frost and ice continues to build despite setting the temperature on the lowest level. Obviously, this unit is going to be much more work then I had hoped for. Very disappointing, however I did not heed the warnings so I am stuck with this mess. By the way – trying to call customer service is a joke. You may think you have a Frigidaire brand supported by Frigidaire, think again. Calling Curtis International, LTD is a comedy show at best! Don’t make the same mistake I made.
