I bought Jumbo size for the 4” egg-crate orthopedic foam (knowing it would compress) and indoor/outdoor cover. My 12yo, 40 lb Australian Shepherd has achy joints (IVDD, arthritis) and difficulty getting comfortable. He has a selection of beds to choose from (memory, flat, elevated cool, old bolster orthopedic), but needed something else.
PROs—huge, has handle (easy to move outside and back in), not a hair magnet, diggable without tearing (so far), zipper is covered, good green color, water & mud wipe/clean easily, affordable, immediately useable, can buy another cover.
CONs—Bought additional water-proof inner liner to better protect foam (helps?), initially really loud crinkly sound that’s mellowed a bit but doesn’t bother me or the dog, packaging was not optimal (gigantic box with bed loosely folded in partially zipped cover).
The egg crate foam spikes for jumbo are 2”, which is why I went w/ jumbo (4”thick overall) rather than large (3”thick). For younger dogs who chew on beds, this seems tough. My dog no longer is a chewer but was and I never found truly “chew-proof” plush things. He never destroyed beds though.
Overall we are pleased—less effort to get comfortable. I plan to get another in Large to take to classes with us. I definitely recommend this particular bed.

First anyone who orders this bed it is 10cm width not 13cm as stated.
This is after the 72hrs recommended for foam expansion, the stain on cover looks like dried mud stain. The foam will not expand as if a heat source that shrink rapped the plastic bag it arrives in melted the foam.

I came back here, in search of a replacement cover. Purchased this bed one year ago. The reason for my purchase was for a hanging swing I made outdoors from a wood palet. I couldn’t find a cushion to fit, for under $200. This is a perfect fit and so durable! Between our kids, their friends and every adult that has been over, they have all sat on and tried out the swing. There were also days it was left outside in the rain and still held up well. Definitely waterproof! Recently, we have used it for our kids stair slide, as a safe landing. The cover has started to tear and that is because it has taken a year of heavy abuse. The reviews I just read were mind blowing. I will definitely say this is and has been an amazing product!!!

I ordered this 5 months ago, and it is already ruined. About 1 month ago, it got a tear in it, I think from being in the sun, and then being layed on by an 80lb dog. The bed is a great idea, but the fabric was definitely weatherproof. Note we kept it out of the rain, so it must have been sun related. If this was to be used indoors, or in an area that is not exposed to a lot of sunlight maybe it would perform better….but 5 months is unacceptable.

My dog loves the large one we have, so I purchased this smaller one for her crate. The memory foam is great but the cover fell apart quite fast from the inside out. I was shocked because she only sleeps in her crate and uses the large bed more.

This foam is outstanding. It is as firm and formed as the day we bought it. Sadly, the water resistant cover has not stood the test of time. We bought this in June 2020 (it’s now July 2024). It has been stored indoors over the winter and in Canada our outdoor season is very short, therefore actual usage has not been much at all. One side of the cover is almost perfect, the other side has little tears and some rippling. I looked online for a replacement cover from furhaven but they run around $70 for the largest size and the largest size in water resistant is not available. It has definitely faded overtime as well (last pic is most accurate colour as camera and shade drastically changes the colour). My guess is that although water resistant, it deteriorates in the sun. I hope I need a really big piece of foam soon!

I bought this (orthopedic) for my arthritic 12 1/2 year old lab granddog. His hips hurt too and it doesn’t bother his hips as much when he lays down on this orthopedic bed- compared to a carpeted floor. I’m so happy with this I’m going to buy the memory foam one for Dakota. Everything about this dog bed is outstanding. I sew and the construction of the bed’s cover is made very well (and it’s washable, too). Love this product and the company.

I wish this was offered in more vibrant colours. I bought the biggest one, great size. Love that it has handles to move it around because it is BIG. Worth the $.
For sizing purposes, I have a Maremma Sheepdog (think Great Pyr for sizing)
This is not a soft bed, with regards to the material. Expect it to be a “crunchy” sound but the inside is firm and good for joints. I doubt it will sag anytime soon. I’ve purchased their products in the past and have been happy with them. Would buy again.
