These little stands are ok, but just didn’t fit my acoustic. They’re light, fold up small, set up securely. The arms are padded well. The top is padded, but isn’t really soft. An adhesive felt pad would fix that.
My problem with them is that the arms are up the legs a couple inches. That made them a little too close together. It also made the top support too close. A tall or wide instrument wouldn’t sit on it securely. My standard acoustic always felt like it was about to fall off.
They’d be fine for something smaller – maybe a parlor guitar or mandolin.
I decided to get a hanging style stand instead.

I ordered this for use with my standard 4/4 violin, which the listing claims you can use it for. But this is just an inch too big to hold a violin securely, and there is not way to adjust it down. Not to mention that it doesn’t lock into place. So if you pick it up, the legs will come undone and the whole thing hangs limp. I don’t feel my violin is safe in this stand so I will be getting a different one. Two stars because it would work for a guitar, as long as you don’t have to move the stand around after it’s set up, and the padding on the arms is nice and thick.

I have a folding wooden stand which looks a bit more elegant, but the advantage of metal stands like these are the light weight due to the hollow tubing. And with the black finish, the look nice enough, and are not very visible anyway when holding an instrument. These fold up easily for carrying or storage, but are still very stable when unfolded. The legs slide into a locked position so there’s no chance of accidental folding.
My only complaint with these stands is the “padding” at the top where the two uprights come together, where the back of your guitar touches. At first I thought it was hard rubber, but it’s really more like hard plastic. There are no sharp edges that would scratch, but it makes an audible click when you lean the guitar back, even gently. I don’t understand why they would use such a hard material on a part that touches the guitar finish. The lower arms have nice soft foam padding, but the top padding really should be soft rubber or foam.
