This ram doesn’t just look good, it’s powerful in the right system. XMP 3.0 makes this ram a rocket ship. It’s priced well, it looks great, it’s powerful. Chef’s kiss!

This is a good kit for the value, honestly prefer this to many other big brands. Check your QVL for sure.

I am running this Trident Z5 kit at 8000 38-48-48-42 2T stable. I have two additional Trident Z5 8000 kits running stable at 8600. The other two are running the memory on water to tame the ungodly thermals. This one is running on air cooling using the stock heatsinks with a very strong and loud fan blowing on them and they are still ridiculously hot. Two things I find loathsome about modern memory design, and it applies to G.SKILL and their competitors, is the RGB stuff always defaults to an animated RGB rainbow puke clown show and the heatsinks the manufacturers install seem to be functionally worthless and act more like heating blankets. They all generally run cooler as naked modules with nothing on them.
Advice for all memory OEMs: get a grip on thermal management and start doing it right, and make the non-RGB kits more common and readily available, or change the default to static white or LEDs off. Customers that want rainbow puke or some other color can install the bloatware needed to control that.
G.SKILL Trident Z5 is my first choice for overclocked DDR5 Hynix A-die.
Pros:
– Great overclocking
– Reasonable price
Cons:
– RGB rainbow puke is disgusting
– Heatsinks are aesthetically nice, functionally worthless

Decided to upgrade my motherboard from a z690 ddr4 to z790 with ddr 5 to get a little more performance out of my 12900k. These sticks were on my qvl and were decently priced so I picked them up. Going from DDR4-4000 to DDR5-7200 made a big difference. These sticks feel high quality and the RGB is vibrant! I overclocked them to 8000MT/s and it was totally stable, but I decided to stick with the default XMP profile. My only complaint is that the RGB is too vibrant so now I need to upgrade the rest of my RGB parts to match

Paired mine with a Ryzen 9 7900X. Was on the quality list for the MSi motherboard I’m using. MB immediately bumped the RAM to 7200 no problem. Haven’t had a crash yet since putting the system together.

As some of the other reviews have stated, the 7200MHz speeds worked out of the box with XMP auto-detect and I’ve had zero instability issues. However, after 32 days, the RGB on one RAM stick stopped functioning and is no longer recognized by my system. It’s a minor inconvenience, but hopefully nothing worse comes up over time.

G. Skills is one of the best memories out there and they did not disappoint. It was the best price so I had to take it with RGB (although I am not a fan of RGB) but it does grow on you.
