I am very pleased with my purchase , does everything that I need any hair product , smells nice, just a little dab will do, and the hold Is perfect, no matter how windy would recommend

I have very fine, very fly-away hair and I really hate stiff or thick hair products, especially those with strong perfume. The product (a Matrix product) I’ve been using is no longer being made so have been trying new things – most are too still or smelly. Have had satisfactory experience with GF before so thought I’d try this. It is not as satisfactory as the old discontinued one, but is definitely better than others I’ve tried recently.

It’s just ok and that’s probably because it’s just not for me. It’s medium hold at best, I have a mix of B2/C2 hair and it can be a little messy looking without hold so I had to mix it with another product to make it doable (but still not great). It is a little bit sticky but not too bad. The thing that completely baffled me if the promise of 24 hr hold. Did my hair look the same at the 24 hr mark as when I put it on? Heck no. Did my hair even look passable the next day with a little freshening up? Also no. Was there still product technically in my hair, yes. So there’s that.

I recently started a method for curly hair and thought I’d try this out first before spending too much on any “higher-end” products. I was not disappointed or impressed. It’s not a miracle, it’s gel. I don’t normally use gel because I tend to avoid putting heavy-sticky goop in my hair, and I’m not really into the wet look. Surprisingly enough, this gel did NOT do any of those things. I found it to be quite light and slippery, but not sticky at all. No residue to report. My hair doesn’t feel overly weighed down or crunchy…and it makes a decent “cast” (that is almost too-easily scrunched out). If I sleep with it overnight, the cast is almost completely gone by the morning. It’s not a strong hold. Some of you may need something stronger depending on your hair type & needs. My hair is wavy and I found that while it nicely defined my waves, it did not make my hair anything more than what it already is – wavy, without curls. It’s not a “curl enhancing” gel (not that it claims to be – just don’t expect any more curls or bounce if you don’t already have it naturally.) It has a very light citrus smell that doesn’t overpower the scent of your other products. I can still smell my conditioner underneath, which is great because I prefer my conditioner’s smell. I don’t wan’t to smell like a lemon. But hey, maybe you do!! (in which case you’d need something stronger. It’s subtle.) Basically, if you want STRONG GEL, with a STRONG hold, STRONG texture & scent – choose something else. If you’d prefer something light & soft, that is reasonably priced, without all those yucky chemicals – this might be the right one for you! it’s worth trying out.

Good to use for every day. Not too strong not too weak for holding hair. The scent is mild and fresh so we use it for my daughter everyday.
