Diana K. Almy –
The GE Sensor-dry dryer fails miserably at its basic mission: to dry clothes. We bought one new and after about six frustrating months had a GE repair person out to fix it because it wouldn’t run a full dry cycle without either stopping or finishing with semi-dry clothes. He explained that sensors in the dryer are spaced so that only clothes in either the front or back are measured for dryness….yet the action of the dryer moves larger items to the rear. This means that you positively cannot dry jeans with shirts (shirts may be dry, jeans will be damp) or towels with clothes (same issue) in the same load. In addition, the slightest amount of lint with cause the dryer to beep about once every 45 seconds for an eternity…until you get so tired of listening to it that you come to turn it off or clean out the tiny amount of lint that set off the sensor. The only way to get what you expect is to put every single load on Heavy Duty and pray that whatever you’re drying doesn’t throw off any lint. Our guest house has a dryer from a competitor that works like a charm. The GE dryer is so frustrating that I won’t ever buy another GE appliance.
