GE UltraPro 8-Outlet Surge Protector, 8 Ft

Solid power strip and surge protector, which fits perfectly in the spot I needed it for, and even fits most of the plugs I’m trying to put into it, which I can’t say for a lot of power strips. Why can’t manufacturers space out the outlets more on these things? Even this one, could use slightly better spacing, a little tight with some of the plugs. but it’s good enough.

Since I knew this was only to power a couple of box fans – which it does very nicely so I gave it 5 stars – but I can never understand why this (and most power strips also) do not provide the gauge of the cord. It makes no sense to not know what the gauge is since if you have a device that uses a 14 gauge wire, for instance, you should have a power strip with at least a 14 gauge wire that plugs to the wall — I found this to be the same when I shopped in the big box stores as well; maybe one company out of the lot supplies the gauge of their wire. Well, again, for a couple of box fans I was not too concerned so it works great!!

I needed a 25-foot extension cord and surge protector for my living room due to a lack of outlets in one corner and a wall of windows. I chose this one because of the good reviews and I am glad I did. It was a good price for the length and the cord is heavy-duty. However, since the cord is so thick and well made, it is a little difficult to keep it laying flat and place it around corners and stay where you put it without using cord organizers to keep it attached to a wall, for example, which I may install in the days to come. It feels like a well-made product and I like that it has surge protection. Great value.

You wouldn’t think it would be so hard to find a proper power strip – I tried with lower end ones twice before settling on this one. You get what you pay for – this one is well made, nothing falling apart, has an indicator light, a switch, good connections in the sockets, and real surge protection. It’s not PURE white if you need that but it looks nice and it does the job and doesn’t look or feel like it’s an electrical hazard.
