First, the upper strings are more playable gauges (11s) than some of the mythical gauges thrown around by fans of SRV. The lowest though is in fact a 60, which feels a bit like a piano wire even a half step down. The sound really captures that snap and heft of the sound with an appropriately equipped strat and amplifier. It does take some strength even over and above regular 11s, so don’t just throw them on before a show and expect to be man handling them at full speed – they deserve a little respect and adaptation or your fingers will start to resent you. Man, they do sound great though. The package doesn’t describe them with any actual SRV branding, but They are the same gauges as the signature set.

All the GHS nickels are good–especially smooth tone on Strats…BEWARE of ‘missing’ strings…GHS strings will sometimes get hidden inside the paper sleeves that are in their packaging. But they are there.

Because they are the same as SRV used their frequently overpriced, if you use a double locking tremalo setup you’ll likely pop the high E, they are available for around $8 you just have to look around.🎸🎶🎶

These strings are perfect! I tested the durability and played with same set of strings for a year before finally breaking the high E string. I play several hours a day 4-7 days a week. I bend the heck out of those strings and they have held up really well. They should definitely be changed well before a year, but I was just testing out how long they would last. The result was, exactly one year. They are a little more expensive here on amazon though. Not sure what that’s about. Overall I love this product.
