I bought these for my son:;17, 5’7″, 125 to play soccer in. He absolutely loves the mid-thigh length and the waist fit perfectly on the XXS. They are durable and good looking, they show off the results of leg-day work.

I’m female, 5’7″, 210lbs. Usually in men’s clothes, I wear a M, maybe a L (US sizes). Based on their size chart I ordered a 2XL in these and they fit well. They’re comfy, but really long – I had to roll the waistband twice to get the legs out of the way so I could actually run. I’ve only worn them once so I can’t attest to how well they hold up but they seem pretty sturdy.

I’m new to the sport of Rugby and needed to get kitted out in order to train/play. I know the brand Gilbert for their rugby balls, but didn’t know much about choosing shorts. I am VERY pleased with these shorts and found the material and craftsmanship unbeatable! I bought a size Large which worked well for me but they run a tad smaller than labeled. They are well made and seem very durable. This is a rough sport and requires tough shorts! These Gilbert Kiwis are the Best Buy and will likely last a LONG TIME ! I highly recommend these !!

This is the third time I have purchased these. I am buying a couple new pair to replace a couple pair I bought in June 2013. (I had to look that up.) I wore them probably one day every week or two. The elastic finally gave out in one of the old pairs but only after four years of really frequent use. They have changed a little over the years in that the first two pairs had white trim around the pockets, but the second two pair and these two pair are completely black. (That’s really the only way I could ever tell the newer ones from the older ones.) After dozens of washes (nearly every week in four years), they had faded, but haven’t frayed. (See picture with new shorts on the left and 2013 version on the right.) These have outlasted any other shorts I have ever had.
I just use them as all-around gym shorts as in I don’t play rugby. (Sorry guys.) I absolutely despise shorts that come down to my knees as I think they stick to my legs. These do not have that issue. Most gym shorts also don’t come with pockets, but these do. They are deep enough for a good sized cell phone, which lets me listen to music and podcasts while wearing them. They do not have rear pockets (nor would I expect them to).
Be warned though. The sizes run small, and I buy one size larger than I normally wear.

 These shorts are great quality. I was actually surprised at how thick the material is. Waist band has nice thick elastic. The shorts withstand the wear and tear of the sport. Washes well with no signs of material coming apart after machine wash/dry.

Last minute needed these for a competition then next day. Ordered late eve, it said they’d get here between 4 and 8am next day. I’m getting pretty jaded about delivery times, can’t tell you how many times next day delivery has turned into a 2-3 day wait. Wasn’t thinking these would actually show but they did. Next morning we’re getting ready to leave, and here comes our delivery at 4:30am. Wow. Was able to wear them that day. Great shorts, well made, would order and will order again.

These rock. I bought my first pair about a month ago and have been wearing them every day since.
They are comfortable, particularly for the summer. They are short enough to not cover too much of your leg, the sturdiness of the cloth helps them stay off your legs to give more breathing room, they cotton itself is a breathable cool material, and there’s plenty of space in the crotch area for good airflow. These are the ideal summer shorts. They also look good. I have black and white. The white pair is thick enough so that the color of my boxers does not come through much, unlike most white shorts.
They are STURDY. The elastic holds up very well so I can put heavy things in my pockets and they won’t slide down even if the string is not tied. The pockets are a good size as well.
I’m 6’6″ with 36″ waist and went with XL for my first pair, but then XXL for my second pair, which was a better choice. XL works fine too but is just slightly tighter. The XXL fit me perfectly and also were slightly longer so they do a better job of covering my boxers.
The only con I can think of is that the orientation of the pockets causes my phone and/or wallet to slide out of the pocket almost every time I sit down.
