I know this isn’t a $200 pan, but it’s not a $20 cheapy either and claims to be a lot more than it is. My wife keeps buying the $20 variety and they last about a year. Aside from who knows what in the nonstick coating ending up in our food and bodies, what’s $20 a year on a pan to cook on every day. So experimented on something a little more on this pan and am sorry I did. First of all, and I know there was mention in some reviews about this but I figured it was a maintenance thing, this pan is convex. Why and for what method of cooking do I want the pan to be convex and everything, to run off to the sides? Everything sticks in the center because the heat distribution is focused on the center due to its structure, but the food runs out to the side. good luck frying an egg. Good luck sauteing anything. Applying for the warranty is like applying for a mortgage, so good luck with that. The only thing Gotham steel needs is Batman to stop this company from selling them.
It also states you can use metal utensils, but nothing abrasive on it. On what planet is metal not abrasive? Do the laws of physics cease to exist when contacting the surface of gotham steel with a metal object? With that said, I didn’t use metal utensils, only plastic or wood, but it scratched immediately anyway. In short, just get the 20 dollar cheapy.
