About The Details –
Griot’s Garage 10515 5″ Orbital Conversion Kit: The G9 buffer came with a 6-inch backer plate and no pads. So, I bought the 5-inch plate with pads. I think 5-inch pads work well as an in-between size — I don’t want to mess with changing to a 3-inch and 6-inch pads may be a little too large for the smaller areas of the vehicle.
The pads are high quality and so far I used one pad about 5 passes on my pickup to get as many marks off as I could. That pad is still good. My pickup was neglected for 20 years and sat mostly in my barn and I never got all the bird dropping damage off that occurred when I was traveling on project jobs where the pickup was parked outside for about 3 years continuously. While I didn’t get all those marks off because they are so deep into the clear coat, the pickup really shines now! I was surprised at how a medium cutting polishing compound could make a vehicle shine. I didn’t even bother to go to a fine polishing compound. From what I read and videos I saw, it seems the cut breaks down and then the compound polishes.
The Griot’s Garage G9 orbital polisher and pads are very good. The G9 9mm overlap is smaller than many but makes it operate smoothly and is easy to use for a novice polisher like me. I’m completely satisfied with the quality of both the G9 and Griot’s Garage foam pads. (I used the orange pad.)

Highly recommend to convert your 6″ backing plate to the 5″. This pad size fits better on modern cars with all the curves and helps keep the pads from stalling.

Somehow was cheaper to buy these then individually at my local stores. I’m happy with them, held up after a year and over a dozen vehicles with constant washing. That washing consists of a soap, toothbrush, spraying down with a pressure washer and looks good as new. No issues with Velcro coming off, it soaks up a decent amount of product and each pad will last about 2-3 panels before a wash. The red panel will barely be used.

I purchased this along with my first buffer from the same company (their 6″ version). I read that I should get this kit because it was a good deal for the pads and that for my purposes, the 5″ would be better.
While I don’t have much experience with buffers (this being my first time), I found the pads didn’t show any signs of wear after buffing my truck using one of the orange pads with some compound, and the black pad with some polish. I waxed by hand with a paste because I didn’t have a liquid wax to try with the red pad.
I watched a few YouTube videos to learn the proper way to use these, and the results are fantastic!
The pads have been cleaned and are ready for the next time.
One thing to note, I had a hard time getting the pad on the center of the buffer, but that was just my inexperience.
I’ll update this review when the pads start to fail.

Nice pads, great quality and thickness I got one of the orange pads broken but it was my fault cause I was in speed 6 and using a lot of pressure and moving to fast Lol xD maybe I was a little bit to excited because this was my first using of a DA polisher (GG 6″) hahaha but forgeting that they are great pads and this kit really worth the money.
Furthermore, I didn’t achieve the results I wanted maybe I should try with the MF correction system from Meguiar’s and see what happens.

Compre este kit por que ya tengo la griot g9 que es excelente maquina! Esta muy bien diseñada y las almohadillas son de muy buena calidad.. ya el tiempo dirá cuantas pulidas de pintura aguanta! El disco es de 5 pulgadas lo cual es perfecto para mi por que coincide con cualquier pad de pulido, el 95% de ellos son de 5 pulgadas (recordemos que la griot g9 viene con un disco de 6 pulgadas) este kit trae 4 pads; 2 de corte pesado, 1 de corte medio y 1 de cera. Ya los he usados todos y hacen lo que deben hacer! Si reemplazar tu disco de tu g9 por uno de 5 pulgadas, este kit es para ti… recomendado.
