This stuff is LEGIT. If you’re into cars or just need to clean up some metal parts, this is it.
I used this cleaner on my carburetor and brakes, and wow, it got rid of all that nasty gunk and grime like it was nothing. My lawnmower’s carburetor was super clogged, and this cleaner made it look brand new. Itโs like it just melted the grease away.

My wood chipper wood start come springtime, this is the first year I tried leaving gas in with stabilizer. Figured that must have clogged my carborator. Bought this and it came quickly. Used it to clean a moderately dirty carborator. The nozzle and straw works well with good variable flow control.
It was honestly very satisfying to use this stuff, put the straw in one hole of the carb and gunk gysers out of other holes. I guess that means you should wear eye protection. Does not smell too bad, a clean acetone alcohol smell. It just blows grime off immediately, and mostly dries in 30 seconds. Best way to describe the fun: it’s instant anti-spray paint spray. Anyway, carborater was squeaky clean but still couldn’t get to start. Turns out there wasn’t as much gas left in my tank as I thought when I put the stabilizer (design flaw that it’s so hard to tell) so the stabilizer ratio was way too high.

I purchased a bunch of cans of this Carb cleaner and then realized that I cannot use it all. So, I gave a bunch of containers to my favorite Contractor who works on our property. Not highly expensive, but the gesture was appreciated because he is also a great auto mechanic and uses Carb cleaner all the time.

I used this Gumout cleaner to tackle the carburetor on my pressure washer, and it did a great job. It cut through the gunk and buildup, leaving everything looking much cleaner. I used to use CRC GDI intake cleaner. Then I tried the expensive STP cleaner with the automatic timed dispenser. I decided to keep the dispenser and see if any other product cans fit. Low and behold…
I found that the Lucas Deep Clean GDI cleaner fit on the dispenser while the CRC can did not. Then the Lucas started becoming hard to find and the price went up. I tried this Gumout foaming cleaner and the can actually fits the dispenser! Gave it a shot yesterday. I have rigged a means of connecting the tube to the brake booster hose with an air hose plug. I advise doing on a windy day as this stuff blows out a ton of white smoke that smells as you’d expect. Calm evening so the stuff lingered a bit. I became concerned neighbors would be alarmed. But the can dispensed fully in a shorter amount of time than other cleaners. It immediately set off some codes which I cleared and they haven’t returned. I took a good vigorous drive after the treatment and codes never returned. Instructions don’t say to turn off car and let sit… just says to idle car for 5 minutes then take a 15 mile drive. I’ve tried the Mopar foaming cleaner once and I see Amsoil has their Power Foam cleaner which is around $13 a can plus shipping which is probably about $8 under $100. So this Gumout stuff is a good deal and car is predictably more responsive and idles more smoothly, similar to other dedicated cleaners and seafoam I’ve used in the past. I do prefer the foam vs. liquid as I believe it may do a better job of contacting the surfaces that need cleaning.
