Jeff –
These locking tuners are beautiful and seem like a great value…BUT they dont always lock. I was building a guitar and these had decent reviews so I ordered a set. my high B and E string kept breaking. I blamed myself for misuse and repeatedly went out to buy another string, time and again. Finally after snapping 3 E strings in a row I went and looked up the reviews and saw others have had this issue too. The top 2 tuners (e and B) have trouble holding onto the small strings and they will slip when you’re tuning–if you tighten the locking knob (at this point) you will break the string. Workaround is to just wind the E and B like you would a normal tuner 2-3 times around the post and then thread it into the tuner. With that trick they work fine but sort of defeats the “locking” tuner title. I guess you get what you pay for.

Great tuners

Really nice looking lockers. Almost $100 cheaper than the Fender version, but almost as nicely made. Good castings, the chrome is nice and even and not rough.
The locking screw is well made and feels like quality. The stings so far and been heal as it should all bit one time tuning the high E, the string pulled out of the lock. Two reasons I believe. I play with .07 being the thinest high E string. And I didn’t tighten it till it couldn’t possibly turn anymore. Perhaps. 07 have less compression that the thicker string. Idk, but super happy with the tuners.

They look great, feel good, and lock like they’re supposed to. At a good price, what isn’t to like?

Guitar fell over and broke a tuning peg. For less cost than factory replacements I upgraded to locking tuners and in a kewler color (black) these do not fit the stick squire dimensions (they were not advertised as doing so⦠but wanted to mention) just a little time with a ruler and some tape and some slow drilling and got them all installed. Action is smooth and have no complaints!

I just built a Stratovarius guitar and wanted to build it with absolutely no Fender parts. I also wanted to build a high quality guitar as cheaply as possible. These tuning machines made that possible. They’re nice and tight and the ratio on them seems fine.
They tune well and seem to hold tune very well. There is no need to spend upward of $100 on good tuning machines. Guyker tuners do a great job. I liked them so much that I bought another set of their two-pin locking tuners too.

I bought two sets of Guyker tuners for Les Paul style guitars and hated them. One set had two bad tuners and was unusable, the other worked but felt cheap. So I was very reluctant to buy this set for a Telecaster style guitar but wanted to save some money over the equivalent Fender branded tuners so I gave Guyker another shot. And I’m glad I did. These feel great and work well, I’d have no problem even putting them on a Fender branded instrument. They’re so good that I’m going to buy a different set for a Squier Strat. I’m not sure if Guyker has upped their game overall or if this particular model just happens to be good but they’ve given me the confidence to try Guyker tuners again.

For the price its a no brainer. Not sure I would recommend them on a gigging instrument but they’re good enough for the everyday use. Got no complaints. They’re going on all my guitars from now on. Re-stringing’s a b***h! These solve that.

I was concerned on the low price on the quality of these tuners. However they are excellent quality and feel much more expensive than they are. They have replaced my squire standard tuners and have made changing strings so much better. Would definitely recommend these to friends. Look great, easy to fit, just needed new holes for them on my squire strat.

Iβve only just started using the tuners, but the stringing process was extremely easy. The locks seem to be holding well at tension, though I wonβt know about tuning stability until I break in the new strings.
I donβt have experience with the more expensive locking tuners, but these seem like really high quality for how much cheaper they are and they look very nice.
Only downside I had was that my guitar did t have the appropriate pinholes but it wasnβt too big of a deal to drill them. Maybe make sure your guitar has those before ordering if youβd rather not risk damaging it.

Most likely youβre upgrading an Asian knock off that requires 6 inline tuners.
These fit my squire MIC as far as diameter of the hole. But they wonβt fit alignment tab holes.
What I did is used tooth picks, cut and filled with tire bond.
After drying I placed the new tuner in and tightened just enough to make small indentions for reference.
Then I used a punch to barely indent those holes so the drill wonβt go off center.
Drill to proper depth.
Install new tuners and voila!
Nice upgrade.
Maybe thereβs ones that fit? Donβt know.
All said, for the cost of these plus my time, I feel theyβre worth it. I like tinkering anyhow.
Performance of these is good for staying in tune.
I run 1 1/2 turns on the treble side with these lockers based on the reviews of slippage due to locking mechanism.
Update: I bought two sets. One has nice gearing stays in tune. The other set was garbage.
I switched to saving up for hip shot tuners.
