Looks good and heats quickly!
My sister in law cooked ribs in it with BBQ sauce and they were fall off the bone delicious! (Her words).
I can’t stand boiled meat but to each their own.
Put it on high and 3.5 hrs later they were done! Great product and I’ll be buying more because I like cooking fruit in them for preserves.
You don’t need to constantly stir them and once. Cooked you use an emulsion blender to puree if you make apple butter they’re perfect. They also make the best tomato sauce! Just leave the lid off after cooking and let evaporation do it’s thing on medium and you have a nice thick sauce.

This crock pot fits the bill for making larger crock pot meals. The 10 qt size is fantastic. Much better then the 7 qt crock pot we had.

Easy to use and does what it says! I no longer use the stove to cook my beef ribs, soups and stews. I can open the lid and check on the progress, add or take contents. Itโs big enough to cook food for 8 depending on the meal.

Excelente compra!

This is by far the best thing I have ever bought! SO MUCH ROOM. I needed something big enough to make double if not triple batches of soup at once and this does the job AMAZINGLY! Plus, the price is A steal!!! The quality of this crockpot is beyond good.

It is a bit heavy for me to lift and clean, but the pot is fantastic. Good for those who have busy schedules, but still desire to cook. I have been afforded the luxury to blend both worlds. This pot is very large and deep. The plug does not heat up. The exterior does get hot, so be warned if you have little children. No leaking. You don’t have to use the seal features on both sides to cook. I like them, but wish they didn’t stand out so much when I’m storing it. They seem delicate and easy to break off. A lovely enough item to sit on top of your counters when not in use, without drawing attention.

I have several recipes that filled my 8qt to the rim (Carnitas, Chili Verde, Guinness stew, to name a few). Always just barely fit and that was after “adjusting” the recipes avoid over filling. I finally decided to go with a bigger unit and found this one worked out perfect. Did Chili Verde the other night and everything went in with room to spare. So glad I decided on the 10qt. I recommend this for anyone who needs that “little bit” of extra room without having to purchase a “monster” unit that takes up the whole counter.
Pro’s:
Extra room for larger meals (an 8lb Boston Butt fit nicely)
Countertop space about the same as my 8qt just taller
Cons:
No built in timer. This is your basic Slow Cooker with “Warm, Low, High” selection. This is not a big deal to me because I use a mechanical timer to set the start/stop time.

Large enough for a crowd-size meal, easy controls, dishwasher safe crock and lid. Gets hot! The lid that locks is nice if you need to transport it to the party.

I am usually one to give a Super-LONG review about the products Iโve purchased (and it is no different here โ as I want all of you out there not to be BURNED ๐ฅ as many may have already been so).
So let me give you both the SHORT and the LONG version (read the LONG version, if you need more details).
SHORT: This Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker is NOT truly/truthfully 10 quarts๐ก. And it also has A LOT of quirks you should know about (so read on, for more details, if your interested).
Here is the start of the LONG part:
I mean, there shouldnโt be too much to a [simple] โSlow Cooker,โ Right?!? โ Donโt get me wrong, as I am absolutely PASSIONATE about the Slow Cooking genre. โ As it is (in my humble opinion), the very BEST way how to cooks foods, to the point of absolute [tender] food PERFECTION! ๐๐
And I NEED a [bigger] Slow Cooker, so that I can fit my 9 lb Turkey ๐ฆ breast into them.
But, I have also been BURNED (MANY times), by various Slow Cooker products (Iโm speaking figuratively, not literally – as in, being โburned,โ by BAD/junky products).
As an example, Iโve [Recently] had to TRASH an โElite Cuisineโ 9qt (by Maxi-Matic).
(In fact, Iโve gone through at least THREE (3) of these Monsters [so it would be WISE to AVOID the Maxi-Matic Slow Cooker line, as they seem to be one of those โCheapโ Chinese products]).
I know!, I KNOW…. I should have given up, after two, but I LOVED โค๏ธ its bigger size, which was the the very โLargest,โ for its time (plus, it always worked PERFECTLY, from anywhere 6 months to a year ๐ฉ).
With that, I was somewhat โSkepticalโ when I received my (this) Hamilton Beach 10qt (today), as it looks ๐ VERY similar to the Maxi-Matic in make & structure (maybe a wee bit, Taller).
Frankly, the MAIN problem that Iโve had so far with these [similar] Slow Cooker models, is that their Heating๐ฅ Elements will usually [eventually] either, burn out or, just stop working altogether ๐ก๐คฌ
But enough โBloviatingโ ๐ง – let me just run down the Proโs & Conโs of this Hamilton Beach, as I see it (so far).
Pros:
1) It is a wee bit bigger, being about an inch or so [Taller] – (but see my Con on this).
2) I like the โLockingโ top lid (but see Con).
3) The top lid is also โVentedโ (with two [2] holes ๐ณ), so steam can escape, being self-bast a little.
4) The controls are โOld Schoolโ (which I like), as opposed to the Digital Controls, on most โnewerโ models.
5) I do like the Black color, as it โHidesโ stains or scratches (Things that you can more easily see ๐ in the more common White ones, that Iโve had in the past).
6) It does get VERY hot ๐ฅ [FAST!, so WATCH out!!๐ ๐ป๐จ] โ and KEEP AWAY any plastic object, at least a few INCHES! ๐ง๐ (which is also a Con, somewhat).
Cons:
1) When I said it was a wee bit bigger I didnโt mean by much. The Hamilton Beach SAYS itโs 10qt, but when you test this then it comes out a wee bit SHORT.
You see, 10qts SHOULD add up to 40 cups. But, when I tried to put 40 cups into the ceramic pot, I found that the liquid comes ALL the way to the Very TOP rim (and NO ONE is going to fill this up to the very TOP ๐ค).
More than likely, youโll fill it up to where the LID rest. At this level, the liquid would only reach 9.5 qts (or 38 cups). But NOT 10qts.
So this is [somewhat] deceptive ๐ก
2) The Power Cord is VERY short!! (2 feet, MAX), so you WILL need an Extension Cord.
3) There is NO Power Light ๐ก (almost every Cooker Iโve ever had, had a Power Indicator [Light] included โ NOT HERE! ๐ก (So youโll have to do what most reviewers have suggested (to know it is on), which is โFeelโ the heat๐ฅ coming from/off the sides ๐ฅต).
4) Some reviewers have noted a โBurning Smellโ when you first turn on the Unit. โ And this is TRUE!! (Hope this will eventually go away, as many have claimed).
5) The Black color is both a Pro, but ALSO a Con (as the color may HIDE left-over food residue [that you CANโT see ๐ ]). So both Bad, and Good (Break-Even, and/so not a Deal-Breaker).
6) As noted, the locking Lid IS nice, but the only PROBLEM is that it is sometimes VERY FINICKY (where, if you donโt latch BOTH sides, at the SAME [Precise] time, then one side will FLIP, back up).
(This is obviously a [weird] โAlignmentโ issue).
Not a โDeal-Breakerโ (Just ANNOYING ๐ค๐ก).
7) And lastly, the โFitโ of the Ceramic Pot (within the heating container) is VERY โLoosey Goosey,โ with about at least a Quarter to Half-inch of Play.
Iโve noticed this seems to be a โCommonโ thing with these [Bigger] Slow Cooker models (I just wished these would โFitโ in better).
Again, not a Deal-Breaker (as long as it cooks effectively and efficiently, Iโm fine).
So (again), as my Title states/implies, the Jury is still out on this Hamilton Beach (I will update, when/if anything Pops up).
I mean, seriously, if it works (Last) LONGER than my old [Cheap] Elite Cuisine/Maxi-Matic, then Iโd be OVERjoyed ๐
(Weโll see ๐ค)
