Love the look and design and very easy to re-fill, but it’s definitely not squirrel proof lol

This adds to the beauty of my front yard and also i get to see different color birds everyday. Worth buy. Can buy it again. it is made of some hard plastic and is unaffected by outside weather.

The birds love it, squirrel. Can’t get up there. But the black birds empty it but dropped some of the seed onto the grass. Squirrels were pigging out, chipmunks. And other small birds. The seed lasted for just over one hour.

Good product. Easy to fill. Definitely NOT squirrel proof. They’ve partially destroyed/chewed the perches and have broken the hinge on the top. Was able to band aid it with a zip tie but they still open it and spill out the contents on a regular basis.

my birds love it and although it doesn’t seem squirrel proof – it sure slows them down from stealing all the snacks

It’s a birdfeeder, so I use it to feed birds. The birds seem to be happy. It’s lightweight and easy to hang back up when filled. The birdfeeder is made of plastic, and it looks like it. However, it works, and because it’s plastic, it is also light weight. This is not such a bad idea, bc We don’t have a tree we can hang it on, so I hung birdfeeder on a black steel pole made to hang plants on, or birdfeeders. Whenever it rains hard the bird seed gets soaking wet, bc the feeding tray is wide. However, the birds don’t seem to mind that either. If the bird seed sprouts, I just go out and throw the sprouted seeds out and re- fill the bird feeder. It needs to be cleaned every so often, so you just take it down, put good birdseed in a jar, or can, or maybe even a bag, clean what needs cleaning, re- fill it, and voila’!

So, first off, it’s such a pretty design, and easy to fill, and sturdy. However, the product picture is photoshopped and misleading. The birds in that picture would have to be 2 inches long! For real birds, the railing to stand on is much too small. I have seen cardinals use mine, but a blue jay just tried and— bless his heart— he kept trying over and over but he was just too heavy! He finally got a bite by hanging on the bar like doing a chinup and stretching his neck forward, but after that he gave up to pursue easier food. If you are looking to feed finches this would be great!
On the upside, no crows are going to bully all the other birds at the feeder. And no squirrels have gotten to mine (and I have a ton of squirrels…)
Update: OK, I’m updating to 4.5 stars (rounded to 5) — cardinals are visiting regularly, and cute little finches love it. When leaving seed out on surfaces, the finches never seemed to feel safe enough to come eat. I hung this feeder high up, from the branch of a tree. Little birds seem to feel very safe eating from it.
Picture of a cardinal so you can get idea about size.
Third update: going up to 5+ stars! The cardinals and finches absolutely love it, AND the bluejays have figured out how to use it! (Video attached.). The squirrels have also figured out how to get the seeds— by hanging from their back feet from the overhead branch and stretching down to grab some seeds. It’s all extremely amusing! Highly recommended, now that the wildlife has learned the ropes.

Lovely feeder. Easy to fill.

My son wanted to feed the birds at home, so I went looking for a simple and attractive bird feeder that wouldn’t break the bank. This fit the bill perfectly and the birds have been flocking to our yard since the first week it went up. That said, it is not quite squirrel proof. If your local squirrels are as determined as mine, they’ll find a way. I woke up this morning to find it hanging open and wondered what happened. I spotted the culprit a few hours later doing some acrobatics to get his/her paws on the seeds!

I hang this from a large maple branch on a s hook and while the squirrels still eat the food, this little feeder holds quite a bit, is very easy to fill and the hanging string is some sort of wire product and not even a chew mark on it yet!!! All types of seeds work good in here and seed is protected from rain and our irrigation sprinkler so nothing is soggy.

Lo compré por que tengo gatos y necesito mantener el comedero lejos de ellos pero no funcionó.

This is cheap plastic, poorly made, seeds get stuck in it and the birds just hate it. Return window closed so I couldn’t return it. So now I am stuck with this plastic junk.
