Frenetic –
I like that there are arrangements for both small lever harp and pedal harp. They are accessible and there are some I am able to play not only on my pedal harp, but with some minor modifications, can play on the 26 string lever harp as well. Many are sight readable. The arrangements are well done.

The Billy Joel for Harp book is a “must have” for any working harpist. There are two versions of every song: a more advanced arrangement for pedal and lever harpists and a more simplified arrangement for smaller lever harps. The book is well written, includes helpful fingerings and includes lever/pedal changes. The notes fall easily under your fingers. They are also true to the original Billy Joel recordings. It’s easily sight-readable for the professional and not too overwhelming for the student. I intend to take this on all my background gigs. You also get a lot of songs for your money.

Unfortunately, most of the pieces here are not suited to a small harp with a limited number of levers. The Sylvia Wood arrangements are better. There tend to be too many lever changes for a midling harpist to handle.
