Original knife set ordered arrived with paint scuffs & scratches. Knife set comes with warranty card, so contacted company directly with pictures of cosmetic defects, and a company rep responded within a couple of hours. Offered to send me a replacement set for free; arrived within 2 days and pictured set is what I received for replacement. Wonderful customer service!! As I stated to the company in my response email, it’s unfortunately rare these days to find reputable companies that stand by & guarantee their products. A delightful find & experience indeed!! I’ll take a good high-integrity company with great customer service ANY DAY over a cheap “quick find” product whose company does not stand by & guarantee their products. Thank you Hunter Dual and you have a return customer here!! Please maintain this level of excellence!! As far as the knife set itself; it’s of good quality and the knives are very sharp. I will agree with another reviewer that it’s unfortunate these do not come with a good non-slip handle grip material, a bit of a safety hazard whether when using or cleaning them. But I LOVE the sleek black classy style & design; the knife block does not take up too much counter “real estate” space, which is a huge plus!! I wish this set included a smaller Santoku knife to pair with the larger one, but I knew it didn’t have that when I bought it. I haven’t needed to use the block’s built-in knife sharpener (I’d hope not, being brand new), so unable to comment on that; but I like this has one built in. Please, Hunter Dual, maintain your high level of excellence in your products & customer service!! Such a rare delightful find these days, and thanks again!!

I am giving these a 4/5 with the context that I purchased these at 75% off (around $50 bucks)… if I had paid the list price of $209 I would probably give them a 2/5.
The first thing I noticed when removing everything was small specs of rust on the scissors. Not a great first impression but I have more kitchen scissors so meh…
After cleaning the knives and getting everything put together, they do look nice. They’re super sharp and the sharpener seems to work well.
The biggest con I have found with these knives is the handles are pretty slippery if they are wet at all. With how sharp these knives are, that’s an issue. You need to make sure they are very dry when handling because the handles have a 45 degree slope down to the blades with no sort of transition if your hand was to slip forward, and there’s almost no texture for your hands to grip on the actual handle. (The little divots in the handles provide almost no grip).
I don’t have a lot of confidence when cutting with these knives.
Another thing is that overall.. I think they feel kind of cheap. They are very light, and the handle sounds hollow if you touch them together or they touch your plate. The blades also flex a bit but not drastic, I don’t feel like they’d break unless I’m really trying to break them.
TLDR: Very sharp, looks nice (not sure how long the dark coating will last), poor grip, slippery when the handles are wet, feels kind of light and cheap overall. Scissors had rust out of the box. Would have returned if I paid the $209 list price, but acceptable at the $50 I paid around Black Friday.
