My dog needs to lose some weight and he likes this. The quality seems good but I find it quite expensive for the size of the bag.

Our Lola is very passionate about her food. In the sense that she will eat most everything and anything that may or may not hit the floor. So I’m not sure this review is valid on the basis of of being biased. What I can say is she has had some weight issues and after only three weeks on this food at the recommended feeding amount, she is already showing some weight loss and has even gotten some of her puppy energy back! I will update in a couple months once we have more time on this food. So far l, so good though!

We’ve used this brand for our border collie for several years now. After her second ACL tear and surgery the vet said she needed to lose a handful of pounds (she was by no means overweight to begin with). She is still a very active dog. We tried a few different brands but the only two things they had in common was that your pet had to be able to survive on a cup or less of food per day and you knew they were still hungry bec you could hear their stomach growl all the time. We noticed Science Diet’s chart allowed for more than a cup and also gave weight maintenance info. Our baby took her weight off (to the surprise of our regular vet and the surgeon vet) and has maintained the vet recommended weight for several years now ( we feed 2 cups every evening to maintain her 40lb recommendation) – all without hearing our baby’s stomach growl.
We brag about Perfect Weight to our friends and it’s really all I can not to go up to perfect strangers with overweight pets and tell them they’re feeding their baby’s the wrong food!

The dog likes it, I have always just maintained weight with it. Some ingredient makes it leave the body very quickly. Do wish it was a better price.

I’ve had my lab on this food for just over a month. She’s slimming down, but not drastically – which means this formula of food has the dogs health at heart. It’s a nice, gradual weight loss and she loves the taste of it, which helps too. I’ll keep her on this food now and would recommend it.

This is a great diet dog food. My dog does very well on Hill’s brand food (since she was a puppy), and is now a very healthy nine year old girl. My only complaint is the higher price, compared to the other variations of the same line.
