Hill’s Science Diet Perfect Weight Wet Dog Food, 12.5 oz Can, Case of 12

The only food where you see chicken bits and carrots, not deconstructed and reformed meat. The cans are not full and this product is just so expensive, however, he likes it and it’s low calorie for a senior guy. It also smells good, unlike the cheap stuff, so I guess you get what you pay for.

I’ve ordered a few cases of this food, and my dog loves it, thankfully. He has thyroid issues, and has to have diet food, as he is heavier than he should be. There sometimes are cans with a dint here and there, but this time two of the cans are badly damaged and two more are dinted, which doesn’t make any sense, as the box it came in was perfectly fine, and so was the case itself when I pulled it out of the box. The cans are sealed in plastic wrap, yet, these cans are badly damaged, it has to have happened before it was packaged up! I’ve heard that damaged cans can taint the food inside, so I’m hoping they will be okay, but if they smell off when I open them, I won’t feed them to my dog. Maybe science diet factory should replace my order for free!

I gave this 3 star because I have received before no problems, but this time the food appeared dried out.
– You should know that this is a non-refundable item on Amazon. If you get a bad batch you will need to contact customer service and send a picture of the food. If this had been the first time getting this variety, I would not have known it was off.
– I get a case every 3 weeks so I am familiar with the product. Normally the Perfect Weight Hearty Vegetables and Chicken stew has a more liquid consistency (more gravy) and is darker brown. I also get another variety (sensitive stomach) that does have a thicker consistency.
– This time the Perfect Weight food was congealed into a thick paste and was lighter in color. If I turn the can upside down, it stays in the can.

– Via Amazon, there is no way to report the problem other than leave a review. I also contacted Hills, and am waiting for a reply.
14 March 2023 Update:
1. Got another case and it was fine. Attached photo of good can.
2. Hills requested pictures of bad and good cans. Standard – “will share with department” response.
3. Hills stated “Canned products that have become congealed can be the result of exposure to very cold temperatures for an extended period of time during transportation and distribution”, but this was more than just congealed. It looked lighter and dryer also. They told me to return rest if I wanted a refund, but I had already thrown it out.

PLEASE contact Hills if you had a similar experience, so this gets tracked.

This dog food is awesome,
It is well worth the money and I will be buying again.
So far I bought two types of food,I wasn’t sure about this dog food but I see it is well prepared and my dig loves it.

My 2 Yorkies were a little plump. Lost 2 pounds really quickly. They love it.

This food is Healthy and affordable, but my pups could care less about that, they love the taste. You can tell by the sheer enjoyment they get while eating it. Great product.
