It automatically follows you as you move around — just put the gimbal on the included low-profile tripod, turn on the AI tracking unit (magnetic small device with an on/off switch – it’s powered directly via contacts with the gimbal so no separate battery). Use hand signals to enable/disable AI tracking – it’s either the OK symbol, or a “stop” palm towards the camera gesture. There’s a red or green light to show what mode it’s in.

It uses a mobile app called “Hohem Joy” — straight forward to use, just connect Bluetooth in your phone system (not in the app) then open the app and it should prompt the device name. You don’t really need the app if you’re using it as a basic gimbal, but it adds some interesting features (like zooming), and allows you to update the firmware.

There’s a bit of a learning curve using it. The joystick is simplest, it just moves the camera smoothly in any direction you want.
