I’m a music student at university and the clunky, heavy case my guitar came with just wasn’t cutting it. This has backpack straps and a side handle, and as needed I can loosen the straps enough to go over my backpack- great since I ride my bike to class whenever possible, and the switch to carrying down the halls of academic buildings so I like to carry it like a normal person. There’s also a velcro strap for the neck inside the case so it’s really secure, and there’s a good chunk of protective foam along the bottom of the case and the side without the zipper so you case lean it against the wall upright, or lay it on its side. And, there’s a little loop on the suede square I put my instrument tag on. Plus, there’s a variety of pocket sizes so I can organize tools/spare parts and even fit loose music in there as needed. As if that’s not enough, I love the trendy look and it has held up over a year now.

First thing’s first…when I initially received my order in the mail, I wasn’t too happy. Instead of receiving the IAB541BK, they sent me the IBB541…which is for an electric guitar. However, Amazon’s customer service rep was amazing and I received just what I ordered 2 days later free of charge 🙂
Now having the correct bag for my acoustic, I’m just about in love with this thing. It houses my Yamaha dreadnought guitar comfortably. The four pockets are great, I’m carrying a Snark tuner, capo, notebook, guitar cable, 2 sets of extra strings (in their boxes), a winder for changing strings and several back up batteries in 3 of the pockets with room still available for more stuff (and that’s not including my iPad I’ll store in the largest pocket). I’ve heard mixed opinions of the padding, so I’ll give you my run down and hopefully in the end, with my given pics, it’ll help you decide if this bag is for you or not.
So padding…the padding in the side wall and bottom of the bag (the perimeter of the bag covered in the tan suede) has adequate 15mm thickness to protect your baby pretty well. I already knocked it into a wall on accident while testing it out with my guitar inside of it, not a scratch. Now the remaining side of the bag (along the zipper where you take your guitar out) is the only thing I’m unhappy about with this bag. It has me wondering why in the world Ibanez thought every other surface of your guitar needed that 15mm padding EXCEPT for this side, as if the zipper itself will protect your guitar.
I read another review of someone else’s and the said they wished Ibanez added a rubber protector pad or pads on the base of the bag for protection….well they kinda did but without compromising the exterior beauty. You’ll see in one of my pics, it’s an interior shot of the base of the bag, there is an additional 10mm thick padding that you just fold down so as long as its folded down and your guitar is in it, it’ll rest on 25mm (15mm + 10mm) which gives your guitar ample base protection (I really love this feature). Another loved feature is the interior strap that secures the neck of your guitar…kudos. The padding of the front and back portions of your guitar are pretty nice too. I don’t believe it’s as thick as the 15mm side and bottom, but my guess is it’s at least 10mm which is substantial.
The colors look exactly like they do in person as they do in the advertised pics. Only thing I’d say is look into some kind of stain repellent to preserve the look of the suede. Also, the zippers are a sturdy metal which is great too. As you can see in the pics, the zipper you open to access your guitar does not fully unzip like some bags, allowing your guitar to drop out. On the top and bottom portions, it’s zips about half way across those surfaces (so don’t try to force it, duh).
So in a nutshell the only reason I’m not giving this beauty a 5 star rating, is because of the lack of padding on the long zippered edge, loss some points with me on that. Other than that piece, it’s all grade A.

Just received this bag. I selected the Moss green color, only because it was less expensive than the other colors. Not sure why. I did need to pay for shipping, because it wasn’t eligible for prime. For the total cost of about $50, I am happy with the quality. My guitar ( ESP LTD 401 ) fits pretty well, however slides a little bit side to side, and top to bottom. Once the Velcro neck strap is tightened, it is much less. The material and zippers seem very durable. I bought it to transport from my house to my guitar instructors house, and it will be great for that. The padding is pretty good, and as long as you don’t throw it in the back of a van, or pickup truck, it will do its job. The case will never leave my hands, and I am careful with what I own. No, it’s certainly not going to compare to a hard case. Ibanez really thought out the pocket design and placement. They will store just about anything you may need. So, if you are climbing on your tour bus, and headed to your next city concert, spend a few hundred more on a bag. If however, you need a nice gig bag, for decent price, I would not hesitate to buy.

This is easily the best gig bag I have ever purchased.
The material feels sturdy, and the aesthetics are nice (I got a blue one).
The fit it a little big for my tele, but the internal velcro straps keep it in place!
My strat fits a little snugger, but not too tight. Not concerned about fitting any solid body.
The external straps and handles are secure; I am not nervous wearing it backpack style.
The multiple straps and hooks allow me to hang the bag up in my closet when not in use.
It has a TON of storage space, including pockets that are AC TUALLY big enough to hold my books.
All in all, I could not be happier, and I will certainly buy another if I beat this one up too much!

Finalmente ho trovato una custodia capace di contenere il mio guitalele Yamaha (attenzione alle misure, i guitalele hanno lunghezze molto diverse). È molto bella e abbastanza imbottita: la tasca ovviamente è proporzionale alla borsa quindi non contiene libri ma è utile per le cosucce come capotasto, tuner ecc. Soddisfatta, anche se non è regalata

This case is good lit weight with good padding in the right places. I got this for electric lbanze hollow body. And also doubles up with an acoustic guitar. It was a cheap price at the time I got it. And with 15mm padding. Well worth it.

Very well constructed. Seams are all straight, even, and well sewn.
Big – I don’t own a hollow body (yet), but I believe this bag would fit one. Plenty of room for Strats, Tele’s and other similarly sized guitars. nice neck strap inside bag controls guitar movement somewhat.
Large pocket – should fit 8.5 X 11 sheet music.
Several misc pockets – should fit the rest of my crap easily and will have extra room for more…. unfortunately.
Padding seems to be of very good quality and protects areas that it should – Wraps around bottom and buts together where bag zips closed.
This is a good bag that I won’t hesitate to carry an expensive instrument in. There are bags with thicker padding out there. But you can get a hard case for less than what some companies want for their thick-padded bags.
Only knock I have is that I wish that the Ibanez section of the label were larger. I had to look for it – but that’s just whining.
