I ordered this machine for my bed and breakfast in the hope that it would be intuitive and simple for guests to use and that it would be tough enough to withstand heavy use. This is a solid machine, with well made parts and an intelligent design. The printed instructions are absolutely terrible. I think the manufacturers would be well served by using a good translator to create clear instructions in English. I ended up writing my own instructions to give to guests. The machine, once you learn to use it, is quite easy to use. The burr grinder is excellent and grinds a perfect espresso grind. The chamber holds plenty of beans. The portafilter is of good quality. The espresso itself has a lovely crema and, true to the claims of the manufacturer, the machine is ready to pour another shot in mere seconds. The machine is attractive and ergonomic. The milk frother is very good and easy to clean. The whole machine, in fact, is easy to clean. Very pleased with this workhorse of an espresso machine!

Overall, this is a fantastic espresso maker for the price. The bean hopper holds a very good amount of beans, so that you do not need to constantly refill it, and the same goes for the water reservoir. The grind quality of the grinder is fantastic, and is probably the best aspect of the machine. The milk frother works very well as well. The machine is easy to use, and is relatively intuitive to figure out, which is good because the instruction manual is rather useless overall.

I do have a few issues with the machine though. Overall, i feel like this machine allows you to begin using it before it is fully heated up. I find that if you let it sit for about 8-10 minutes you get a much better extraction as the water is much hotter. I still feel like it’s not as hot as it should be, but its better than when making it when it says it’s ready, can be described as ‘warm’ at best.

My next issue is that there are no clear/easy ways to get accessories for this machine. The material in the amazon post states that it’s a 54mm portafilter, but even the 53mm accessories i have gotten do not work with it, as they are all too large.

I definitely feel like this is a great espresso maker for beginners to learn what they may or may not like, or to get used to the basics of using espresso machines, but if you are a serious about your espresso, this would probably leave you more frustrated than anything else.

I’m a big-time coffee lover. I have a coffee counter that has six different coffee maker styles on it, and I use every one. But this espresso maker has bumped some off of the counter because of its incredible nature.

The espresso maker has a removable water tank on the back which makes filling the water so much easier, since it’s not in a spot near my tap. And with the power behind it, I don’t want to pour water into the tank so the removable tank is ideal for me. The hopper on top holds a good amount of coffee beans and has an adjustment on the inside. What does the adjustment do? To be honest, I’m not totally sure.

While the instructions are better than some I’ve seen, I still find that I’ve had a bit of an issue with setting it up. At first it wouldn’t put out water – turns out I missed the step of removing the little silicone tabs on the bottom of the water tank. But overall, we still had a few little issues here and there setting it up. But once we did, it worked fine. So it could just be a matter of being a user error.

The construction of the machine feels solid, for the most part. The sides feel a little flimsy, but it’s not like it’s a load bearing part or anything. Once it’s set up it feels just fine. The machine is said to reach up to 20 bar of pressure for the water, but I can’t say if it does or not, as the gauge on the front doesn’t have numbers. It just has a dial with markings, plus a designated range where it says it’s the “work pressure”. So we keep it in that range. How do we get it into that range? Well, that’s where the tamper and little filter cups come into play.

The tamper that’s included fits decently into the filter cup, but it feels like it could have been just a touch tighter to allow a better compression. The more it’s compressed, the more pressure is needed to go through the grind – or so I understand it.

There’s a decent video on the Amazon page here that does show how it works, and that’s definitely coming in handy. While I haven’t mastered my espresso as of yet, I am happy to be working on it with this machine.

After using this machine for a while and drawing a few dozen cups of espresso through it, gotta say that I quite like it. It’s definitely more of an entry-level type of maker, but it produces a good cup, and if that’s all you’re after, do you really need a more complex machine to achieve the same results?

Operation is simple & straight-forward, with the heating element getting water up to temperature quickly. It took a few tries to fine-tune the grinder output in order to get what I consider to be the proper amount of grounds into the filter cup, but now that’s set, I’ll never have to change it again.

I’ve played with the steaming wand a bit, but as I’m not a fan of milk-based drinks, I’ll rarely use this feature (though it’s nice to have just in case). Steam output was steady and you should be able to froth up enough milk for a couple latte’s in short order.

Pulling a double espresso shot (aka “doppio”) was easy – with grounds firmly tamped and the funnel assembly locked in place, the pump takes around 30 seconds to send approximately 80ml of water/steam through the grounds. The resulting cup has a lovely crema, which tells me that the machine is indeed operating at high enough temperature & pressure levels to emulsify the oils that exist in the coffee grounds.

Bottom line, if you’re looking for a basic, no-frills machine that doesn’t require a PhD to operate, this one’ll easily satisfy your espresso cravings.

Let me preface this by saying don’t expect this espresso maker to be anything groundbreaking. It is not a Breville and I didn’t expect it to be. For the occasional homemade espresso it does just fine. This machine will never be as nice as many of the commercial grade machines on the market but for the price I don’t think you’ll beat it for what it offers.

The grinder is a nice addition but also don’t expect the grind to be perfect. Overall it does the job and for someone looking for a good value this is sufficient. The machine pulls a shot just fine and for the few times a week I want to make espresso it has done well. It is easy enough to use and I don’t have any major complaints.

For a young college student or professional looking for an at home espresso maker this is a good starter machine.

Yes, it’s loud, yes the settings for grind and quantity aren’t great, but for the price this is a very good little expresso machine.

This a very attractive and doesn’t take up a huge amount of space like some other espresso machines. Easy to use. The fresh ground bean feature is key to making a great cup of coffee!

We’ve been using the coffee bar for about 4 months now. It looks fantastic on the kitchen counter and is used several times a week. It’s easy to clean and super easy to follow the instructions. The grinder and frother work well too. It’s a little expensive, but if you have a coffee habit, you’ll save money in the long run.
