Have used this 9-in-one cooker aboard a live-aboard trawler for over a year. Noromally a multiple-use product does one thing well and not others? This Instant Pot does everything well. It is a pressure cooker, crockpot, sous vide, yogurt, rice, sterilizer, cake, and steamer.
The only feature not used (yet) is the yogurt setting, but the rest of the settings work extremely well….with impressive results. The support for recipes and use online is also impressive. If you need a perfect meal in thirty minutes while using minimal electricity, this is perfect. This recommendation was passed along by another live-aboard boater. Forgot to defrost meat for a recipe? No worries, defrost enough to separate the meat from the packaging and place in the intant pot. The crock pot setting has 92 hour range which is awesome for bone broth. (We did not opt for the air fryer model, due to our own galley storage and height limitations).
The interior pot acts like a 316 stainless steel which performs evenly, does not develop hotspots or burn marks, and cleans easily to brand new condition every time.
Con: Short cord. Would love to park the instant pot directly into the sink for stability while we are underway, but the cord is not long enough. This pot is actively used while underway to take advantage of the electricity and to have a meal ready when ready to anchor for the day. Hoever, there have been no problems or issues with slipping, tipping or bouncing off the counter. It’s heavy and stable with great friction on the bottom … again, after 1 year 2 months, so far so good.

Ok, for some reason I didn’t know this was a glorified pressure cooker. I already have a pressure cooker and I’ve used it and was familiar with its one function. The Instant Pot, I’ve learned, is so much more. I was amazed at the sauté function: it boiled a full pot of pigs feet and then pressure cooked them in 35 minutes. Rice: perfect every time. I’m interested in the sous vide and yoghurt function. I’m on a learning curve and having so much fun. The best thing: My kitchen stays cool while it’s cooking.

I had an insta-pot previously which lasted less than two years. It just stopped working. I attributed its failure to the fact that the outside would get quite warm when it was operating. Electronics lives are shortened with high environment temperatures. Its electronic brain just died. When researching other brands, it appeared that most used the same parts. After a year, this insta-pot was ordered because of the ratings. I was prepared to send it back if the exterior got unusually warm. It was cool to the touch so I expect that this one will last.

This is my second IP and the improvements are impressive. The quick release button is repositioned and much easier (and safer) to use. The digital controls are easy to set and to see what stage the machine is on and when it will be done. I am a big fan of the speed and efficiency of IP cooking and this model has just improved the overall product. Price is reasonable, performance is great and I recommend you give it a try!

This instant pot is thinner in metals than my older one. To reheat food, it takes longer and doesn’t keep the heat in as well as the older models. The pot doesn’t have handles…. Such a shame. So now to take the pot out after cooking, pot holders are required. Otherwise, it works fine. They did improve the valve release.

I have always eaten food prepared in the microwave or just food that required no cooking. Was looking for a healthier way of eating when a friend suggested the instant pot. My life has been changed and my diet has been upgraded. There is no limit to the number of healthy food that can be prepared with the instant pot. I love cooking now because it is effortless and super speedy . . . INSTANT. My food is more flavorful and looks more appealing when compared to the oven or stovetop. This was a great purchase for me. I absolutely love it and all the things I can do with it.

If you like to cook at home, Instapot is a must-have for certain meals. The pressure cooker saves hours of cooking time, and the design makes it very easy to use. Pot roast, ribs, marrow bones are done in minutes, not hours. We do not find the preprogrammed setting useful, but it is easy enough to set the time and temp you need.
