ISILER Electric Kettle, 1.7 L Glass Boiler

This item replaced my previous boiler which was Hamilton Beach pictured on the right. I had an issue with the iSiLER boiling too long and evaporating too much of the water, but iSiLER said it was defective and replaced it, and the replacement doesn’t have that issue.
Most things about this product seem generally very positive, like: The shape of the handle or something about the balance of it, that seems to make pouring more effortless. I didn’t have this sort of handle on my Hamilton Beach. I wear a wrist brace often so this handle helps with the strain on the wrist. Also, the handle comes out quite a bit at the bottom, which, whether by chance or on purpose, seems to protect the power button from accidently being trigged, for example when unpacking groceries and it falling on the button. I had multiple accidental triggers with the Hamilton Beach. The color is a nice color. I have a very white kitchen, and this makes the kitchen more pleasant to be in. Another positive, that some might think as negative, is the plastic construction. As you might see in the picture of the Hamilton Beach next to it, the stainless steal easily rusts, perhaps because of the high amount of steam and water that gets on it. I wish they would have made the bottom plastic as well, which rusted on my Hamilton Beach and I suspect it might do here. Maybe manufacturers are trying to make stainless steal products to help them sell, but here it actually seems less functional and attracts fingerprints as well. And finally, one of the reasons I purchased this was the lid opening/closing mechanism. My Hamilton Beach had some sort of latch system on the two sides of the lid that broke, so I was looking for a different system for my replacement. Not sure if this is better but it’s different, and the positive is that I can open the lid with the same hand I’m holding the handle with. The shape of the lid on the top has a curve to it, which can be slippery when trying to close it given that often it may be wet from steam. The Hamilton Beach didn’t have that issue because it had a flat lid, but after a while I got a better at closing the curved lid.

We have been using our iSiLer electric kettle for a year now and I decided that I should write a review, since I rely on reviews when I shop. I don’t love the yellow color, but like pretty much everything else. It heats much more quickly than heating water on a gas stove and we use it regularly to preheat water for things that we will boil in a pot on the stove. The wide mouth makes it easy to clean, and mineral deposits are easily removed with regular vinegar. The LED light, besides looking cool, lets you know when the kettle is turned on. Our previous kettle occasionally got turned on accidently and it wasn’t immediately obvious. The switch is also directly under the handle, making it harder to accidently engage it. The action on the lid button is a little stiff and I was sure that it would give out, but it still works just fine. I was a little skeptical about all the 5-star reviews, especially for the price, but it has lived up to its promise so far for me. We use it almost daily, sometimes multiple times a day, and it stays out on the counter. I don’t know if other, more expensive kettles have more features, but I like this much better than my previous, more expensive kettle. I have been very happy with this kettle for a little over a year now, so I decided to share my experience. If it fails in the near future, I will try to update.

My whole family adores this kettle. My teenage daughter loves this kettle. You know you have a winner when a sixteen year old expresses her love for a kitchen appliance.
I’ll admit I was dubious when I saw how many positive reviews this kettle has. It sounded too good to be true. But it’s awesome. I like how it lights up to let me know it’s working. I love how fast it is. I love how the lid opens (it doesn’t flick boiling water all over when it opens). It has a simple design and it works great.
So I didn’t realize how much this kettle had become a part of our lives until the lever stopped working. No more hot water! No more tea! No more pour-over coffee for my hubby! How will we go on? I’d actually forgotten that we used to use a microwave. My daughter was making tea and asked if I wanted some. I asked, “Are you using the microwave?” And when she said yes, I *actually felt disappointed.*
So I sent a message to the manufacturer explaining my sadness about the broken lever and they replied very rapidly and were so helpful.
And now the kettle is back and balance is restored to our little corner of the universe.

Great value for the money. It works well and I love the color. I spent a lot of time researching electric kettles and am glad I settled on this one.
