I bought this to use as a base for the Hohem iSteady Pro 4. This gives me the ability to do complex panning shots from various vantage points. So far it seems to work great, but I’m sure it will eventually fail. The question is, how long?

It works but you can better spend a little bit more money on smth better

Much smaller than expected. The photos make it look bigger.
The legs and joints are much stiffer and require more effort than I expected. But that probably makes it a little more secure.
Wish it came with a good quality phone mount.

It’s probably more than I needed for the device (a Tascam sound recorder) but it goes just about anywhere.

I have own 2 previous stands for my phone and both of them fell apart within a month of owning them. So, I decided to give this one a try.
This one shows no sign of wear well after that period my previous ones fell apart. I use it for so many things. It holds my phone to use it as a webcam, it holds my phone when I just need a light somewhere, and it acts as a pair of sturdy extra hands when I’m doing some small work.

I bought this JOBY Gorillapod to replace the original JOBY that I thought I lost. Then the day it arrived, I found my original JOBY. So I returned the newly purchased one because it was bigger and heavier than my original JOBY. Still, this and any JOBY Gorillapod is a great product; handy, convenient, flexible and sturdy enough to support heavier cameras securely. I just prefer the smaller and lighter Gorillapod to use with my smaller, lighter pocket camera.

I have both the Joby Gorillapod 1k and much larger and sturdier 5k. The 1k is much better suited for recording videos and getting shots with your phone. I personally use this guy with a Neewer metal phone mount which has a ball head to swivel the phone in any direction/orientation I want.
I’m not sure I’d trust it with a DSLR or mirrorless camera (the 5K is much better for this application), but for light point-and-shoot cameras or phones, it’s perfect. The legs are easily readjusted yet rigid, and the stand won’t tip over as long as the legs are set up correctly space apart.
All-in-all, I highly recommend this stand for lighter setups. It’s an easy carry in the bag and takes seconds to whip out, adjust, and frame the right shot.

It lives up to its claims! It will hold on to literally anything. Awesome design. If you need a versatile tool for attaching a phone/camera (make sure you buy the correct one designed for heavier cameras) to literally anything, this is the best solution Iโve come across โ and Iโve done a LOT of research

It works good all around other than it โbrakingโ when you bend it back or fourth. One of the stands (legs) comes off and you have to push it back in, which is not a big deal but when youโre spending the extra money on a joby and not a rep itโs pretty upsetting.

Purchased this gorilla pod used for half the price it was regular and does the job fine. Quite a worthy product and definitely worth the price even not on sale. Holds my sony zve10 and my 10 18mm perfectly
