I rotated the reservoir from the right side to the rear. It’s a big unit, but smaller than two separate ones. I like the k-cup socket recessed midway back, with drinks flowing down. Anyone who’s experienced a k-cup rupture knows the cleanup, this design minimizes that chance. The thermal carafe is better than a hotplate. The brew heat is actually hot, another concern I had.
The controls are on the top 1. press on button 2 strong option button (if desired) 3 select k-cup or carafe 4 if k-cup select size 5 press brew. K-cup are done in about 90 seconds.
It’s easy to clean, reservoir is big. A peculiarity is if there’s only a cupful of water left in reservoir it won’t brew. I didn’t read any warning about that but once I filled it, no problem. The charcoal filter goes in the reservoir, and takes a 5-minute first-use soaking.
I’ll revise this if any changes. It’s a big unit. Expect a bigger box from Amazon.

Es un buen producto esta cafetera, pero si están en la Ciudad de México y desean comprarla, primero tienen que cerciorarse de que haya cápsulas en el mercado para este sistema. Eso la hace un poco compleja, pero el sistema duo me permite hacer un buen café con alguna mezcla molida. Me gusta y es funcional.

Todo estaba perfecto hasta que hoy 15 días después de empezar a usarla falló y no bombea agua ni en el compartimento de cápsulas ni en la jarra.
Ya inicie la solicitud de cambio, una vez llegue la otra y esté funcionando bn actualizo mi comentario

Ya me reembolsaron lo de la compra sin ningún problema. Por la falla que presentó pienso si comprar una nueva o decidirme por otra marca que sea compatible con cápsulas Keurig

I purchased this model after mu older Keurig died suddenly!!! 🙁
This meant that I HAD TO REPLACE IT! I was looking to Replace with IDENTICAL Model but Keurig no longer makes or stocks!
This Newer model cost MORE and has FEWER Features:
• No 14oz, 16oz options
• Can’t PRESET multiple Brewing options (Strong 14oz, 16oz, 4oz etc.)
• Older model TOLD you WHEN to CHANGE Filter and DESCALE!
• Older model display more intuitive and provided more information of the display
FINAL THOUGHTS: This is NOT a Bad unit … the expression: “you don’t miss what you never had …”
Well I DO MISS the Features … that the previous Model HAD!

The coffee maker takes as much space as you’d expect, given the dimensions. It’s a big one, but for what you get, it’s expected. The only thing I was a bit concerned about was the glass carafe, and apparently, I had reason to be since not long after its first use, I noticed a crack in the glass. I don’t know how it happened, but it made me not want to keep using that part of the coffee maker, which was a problem. Fortunately, I contacted Keurig through their website, and after providing the SN (which is on the back of the coffee maker, by the way. You have to take out the water reservoir to see it) and a picture, as well as other details, they provided a replacement at no cost, which was a big bonus.
I feel like the cup measurements for the carafe aren’t quite right (if that’s even what they are), so there was a little trial and error when it came to figuring out how much coffee I’d be adding based on the options available. One thing I do enjoy, though, is the fact that I can stop the coffee from starting with enough time to spare. I have a bad habit of starting the K-cup side without first inserting said K-cup (it’s called mornings, nobody likes them), and once you hear it start (because it takes a bit for it to take the water and heat it up, I suppose?), it gives you time to cancel (just turn it off).
Cleaning-wise, it hasn’t been that much of a hardship. Also, the water reservoir is a bit of a pain to carry and place back in when it’s full, so I now just use a measuring cup to pour water in. Bear in mind that the lid gathers condensation so when you lift the lid, be prepared to relocate it into a sink or just try not to tip it in any direction, and the water shouldn’t slide out of the sides too terribly much.

Love the options. Single cup with specific ounces and the carafe. I’ve seen some reviews about the coffee dripping awkwardly onto the counter when pouring coffee from carafe to cup. If you pour slow it shouldn’t be a problem. Or when holding the carafe by the handle, press down on the lid’s hinge with your thumb, lifting the lid and pour away (using just one hand to do so).

I thought I finally found the one Keurig model that operates on 220 volts, so I can use it at home in Saudi Arabia, only to be disappointed by the inaccurate product description! I now have to buy an electric converter that I hope doesn’t die like the previous one I used for another Keurig model!!

I purchased both of these pots at the same time (Keurig here on Amazon and the FlexBrew from our local big-box store). Here is my analysis:
Things these two share in common:
* They make great coffee!
* They both make a carafe or a single serving with a K-cup or with your own grounds in a k-cup adapter.
* They both make a carafe with up to 12 cups, or 60 oz (you lose some fluid in the brew process, achieving more like 56 to 57 oz).
* They are both programmable for an auto-brew.
* They both have an option for strong/bold coffee and the option applies to both the carafe and the single-serving side.
Keurig K-Duo Plus pros:
* Attractive.
* Small footprint good for smaller kitchens.
* Has a reservoir to hold water for multiple cups.
* Comes with a thermal carafe.
* Comes with a gold filter and water filter.
* Has easy-to-read push buttons for size options.
* Carafe and single cup options come out of the same spout – less cleaning involved.
* Fast brew process.
* Little to no steam escaping the top, so it seems safe to place under cabinets. And because of the separate removable reservoir, it can be used just fine beneath cabinets without pulling it out to fill.
Keurig K-Duo Plus cons:
* Expensive.
* Size options limited. For a carafe, you can choose 6, 8, 10, or 12 cups. For a single cup, you have the same choices (in ounces). There are no in-between sizes, and the maximum K-cup size you can make is 12 oz.
* Coffee filter basket is a bit hard to pull out and push back in.
* Gold filter does not have a handle.
* To use a “My K-cup” adapter with your own grounds requires fully pulling out the coffee basket, reaching up inside, and popping out the piece that punctures the K-cup. So switching between K-cups and your own grounds for a single brew is super cumbersome.
* Does not include a “My K-cup” adapter for your own grounds. That must be purchased separately.
* Height is quite tall and it can be difficult to see the button controls if your cabinets are low or cast a shadow. Could be difficult to insert a K-cup for some.
Hamilton Beach FlexBrew pros:
* MUCH more affordable.
* Less buttons to push as water output is based upon how much water you put in at the time of brewing.
* Single serving side will do up to 14 ounces.
* Single serving size is dependent upon how much water you put in, thus making the size more customizable – so you can do a small espresso cup, for example, with only 4 ounces.
* Carafe sizes are also customizable up to 12 cups, based upon how much water your put in.
* Slightly shorter than the Keurig.
* Includes a mesh filter for the single-serving side, for using your own grounds.
* Storage for the single-serving mesh filter is beneath the single-serving drip tray which is quite handy.
* Coffee is really hot, so you can add liquid creamer and not feel like you have to microwave it.
Hamilton FlexBrew cons:
* Not as attractive as the Keurig. Bulkier.
* Does NOT include a gold filter. That must be purchased separately.
* Does not have a reservoir that stays filled and ready to go. It must be filled each time you brew.
* Takes longer to brew than the Keurig.
* Two separate spouts for carafe and for single serving. Therefore, two spouts that need cleaning/descaling.
* No thermal carafe included (They have that as another model, but it only does 10 cups).
* More difficult to fill the reservoirs since they are at the back of the machine. If placing this beneath cabinets, one would probably need to pull the machine out when using in order to reach and fill the reservoirs.
Final decision: in the end, I went for the FlexBrew, as I decided I preferred the ability to make up to 14 ounces on the single-serving side, so it fully fills my cup. While the instructions say not to exceed 10 ounces for actual K-cups, I have been putting in 14 ounces, selecting the bold brew, and it seems to work just fine. I also like that it’s easy to switch between K-cups and using your own grounds on the single-serving side. Plus, there’s storage for the mesh filter right on the pot, so I don’t have to go searching for the accessory. The better price tag is a big factor too, of course. I did end up buying a gold filter and a separate thermal carafe for those days when needed, although we usually drink the full carafe pretty quickly. Even with the purchase of the thermal carafe and gold filter, the price tag on this is still significantly less than the Keurig. I didn’t need to place this beneath a cabinet, so that issue wasn’t significant for me. If you need yours beneath a cabinet, I would probably recommend the Keurig.
