I have been using the old-style hummingbird feeders for years and wanted to try something different that would be compatible with a heater for the coming cold months. I love these feeders, and so do the birds! Incredible quality – the top is a durable coated metal with silicon ports for the birds to feed and a thick plastic reservoir underneath for the sugar mix. I paired the feeder with a large colourful baffle to help protect it from snow.
The birds figured out the new configuration within half an hour. I’m delighted that I get to see them better, and they seem to be more comfortable to hang around (perhaps because the design gives them a 360-degree view), and it is way easier to clean. In winter, our area is prone to mould, and scrubbing the feeders is always a chore. This is so much easier to clean! I imagine the only part to watch will be the silicone ports, but these seem easily cleaned with a little brush I had for the task.
Another bonus is we can get quite windy periods here. I was worried that the feeder might “jump” off the hook. I used a zap strap to make a smaller, more secure loop and noticed that the feeder just swayed like a circular pendulum. I would probably take it in for a much stronger wind, but it handled well in a moderate breeze.
I love the quality and design of these feeders and got two to make sure I’d have a backup. That said, I think these feeders will last a long time and bring happiness to both the birds and viewers alike!

Our local humming birds really like this design, which allows the birds to perch and get a drink. The items were well packaged and are well designed and made.
There was a problem with one feeder where the plastic filled spot where the hanger hook gets screwed in. Customer service quickly sent a new unit! Super Service!

The hummingbirds love these feeders and I like being able to see them even if they are on the far side of the feeder. Some birds are “hover feeders” but other birds like to sit on the perches. No bees or wasps have been attracted to these feeders, since they don’t leak like the inverted bottle feeders do. Easy to clean too. Feel substantial and well-made. Have used them for over a month now, and no problems so far.

After dealing with the plastic ones that look a bit like this one, I decided to try a metal version. I really like how sturdy it feels. From Day 1, it started attracting SO many hummies, so many more than with the other feeder. I don’t have an issue with red ants getting into it anymore either. During the super hot days, I was concerned about their feet on the metal. When I checked it outside, the top was hot but the perching bar around the lid wasn’t hot at all. It feels like there might be a rubber coating or something. I was looking for a snap or click to tell me when the lid was in place, but this feeder doesn’t do that. Instead, it has a rubber gasket around the top of the clear reservoir. I would like the gasket to be just a tad wider so it would grip just a little better, but so far I’ve had no issues with the lid at all. I do think the weight of the lid also helps keep it on well. All in all, I highly recommend this feeder!

The design of this hummingbird feeder is very simple. It is easy to fill and easy to clean.
I gave it 4 stars because the flange that is supposed to seal the top to the bottom doesn’t quite do the job. If I fill the reservoir to capacity but below the brim it leaks while I carry it outside each morning.
I have to bring it in every night because otherwise the bear come after it at night.

This thing feels so nice when you pull it out of the box, but as soon as I put sugar water in it and tried to hang it up, it spilled everywhere. I assumed I’d done something wrong, so swearing loudly, I brought it inside and tried everything I could to make it seal without leaking. No luck – it’s just garbage design.
