When I noticed my tortoises, light went out the other day I needed a replacement for him to know it was daytime. Sadly, my local pet store didn’t have these in stock anymore as they are moving to some new style that I didn’t want to upgrade to at this time. So off to amazon to find the perfect replacement bulb!
Not only did it arrive unbroken, but it was quick too. The light was simple to install (After i got it out of the bubble wrapped box, thanks Amazon for making sure it arrived unbroken!). And before i knew it Frank crawled out of his log and into the new light!

Great bulb and I have never had a problem with one yet. I ordered here on Amazon and saved $10 from what I would’ve paid in the store plus I didn’t have to drive across town and use a bunch of gas or time lol. As seems to be the new norm lately I ordered it prime on a Friday night and didn’t get it till the following Tuesday which erks me a bit but whatever I got it and that’s what matters. I use 2 in a 6’x6’x3′ waterdragon enclosure and they work nicely to keep their lives plants happy and healthy and the dragons happy and healthy. I recommend this to anyone who’s got a reptile that needs high uvb/uva.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to make sure you have a good quality light for your reptile and replace it in a timely manner. I forgot to mark it on my calendar and the 6 month mark went by. In time my Chinese Water Dragon became ill. Her eyes wouldn’t open and she refused to eat. The vet said she had a bacterial infection and her health over all was not good. We treated the infection and her improvement was minimal. Then I realized I had forgotten to change the light at the 6 month mark. I ordered a new light and she began to improve. It took a good long while for her eyes to open again (and we used saline eye drops daily to help), after a year she is just now eating without being force fed. I will NEVER neglect to change our Zoo Med ReptiSun at or before the 6 month mark. It cost us over $100 to take her to the vet, so we saved no money in not changing it promptly. I will also not take a chance on another brand of light as this one does what it’s suppose to do. Our Chinese Water Dragon is growing, eating and very happy, thank you Zoo Med ReptiSun.

Purchased May 20th 2023. Burned out Aug 7th 2023. Should have suspected a problem as light had a slight flicker when it was on. Very disappointed, did not last 3 months!!

I had a smaller repti-glo bulb before this one that gave out lousy light and died after two weeks. I replaced it with this bulb several months back and haven’t had a single complaint. The light is bright and crisp. It turns on immediately. And it seems solid because I’ve bumped it around a few times with no ill effect. I also have the Zoo Med reptisun hood. I have no idea why the other reviewer claims that it gives off heat. It’s not a heat bulb and reptile owners shouldn’t rely on one bulb to be their UVB and heat source. You can’t balance the the two and you need to provide a spot in the cage where the reptile can get take a break from the heat but still sit in the UVB. Treat your pet well. Get this or one of the other repti sun bulbs.
