One of my cats was already very interested as I was building it, the moment I had the bed set up she laid in it. The moment I put the hammock on she jumped up on top! Even passed out pretty fast! So I say that’s a good sign ♡

I got this to replace the “jungle gym” one I got from walmart, it’s got a hole ontop and slowly been getting bigger and knew it was a matter of time before it rips. They love that one and in the past I would just get a replacement from Walmart but they don’t sell it anymore for some reason! Not online.. not in stores (seriously why!) So I happened upon this item and seemed the closet I can find.

I liked that you can replace parts incase something rips. Although the hammock replacement in their store doesn’t look exactly look the same since it doesn’t have a moon toy but a ball? (Why??) Which is pretty disappointing but oh well.

The moon might not last long anyway since the string looks like something my cats will chew through easily, but we will see!

I’m also not particularly fond of the velcro on the top, seriously why is that there? Seems like it was for packaging purposes but even then seems completely unneeded. The other issue was a big unsightly tag that’s on the top? Again, why?? Had to cut it off but some of it remains, its just kind of annoying.

Otherwise it seems sturdy, my kitty is pretty big and looks to be holding up fine! Wish I had a bigger space to add more parts, maybe in the future!

so first I do want to say my cats absolutely do love this and I am very happy about that!
BUT the temptation to give this 1 star because of the top velcro is VERY strong. This is so insanely difficult to clean for no reason at all because of that dang velcro! I am able to use my cat hair removal tool for most of it where the velcro is not, like it comes off, is easy to clean… then you get to the velcro area… its impossible to clean the velcro itself and the area around it is also frustrating. Like why did y’all make this so needlessly difficult? Definitely would be a 5 star item without that top velcro!!

It went together very easily. But as a stand alone item I’m not sure about this. There’s Velcro on the top that would absolutely be agitating to a cat. I planned to just put a blanket on top anyway so that wasn’t going to be a huge issue. But the “platform” does not seem very sturdy. My cat likes things she can trust to put her weight on and I see her hating that it has so much give. Also it slides around on my laminate floor like crazy, which she won’t like. I’m going to test it out but I’m not sure this really works on its own without the rest of the setup.

Editing to add: okay so she at least really likes the bottom part! And I put an anti-slip mat I happened to have under it to prevent it from sliding around.

My 4 month old kittens love the bed. They fought over the hang down toy, I am sure it will be off the bed in a few days. I did have to put a blanket across the top to keep them from chewing on the velcro. This is definitely a “fun” bed. I doubt the kittens will sleep in it till the toy on the string comes off, because they won’t stop playing with it. We don’t have the whole city, so the bed is a little less sturdy that I would normally have for a kitten bed. When the run across the room (tile floor) and jump into it it moves several feet. Overall the kittens love it. The 17 year old cat took a nap in it with no issues, but she is a little old to be attacking the hang down moon toy.

This was cheap and a pretty useful item however, there is a major flaw. The hard side of velcro is sowed to the top of this contraption. Guaranteeing any cat to get its hair stuck all over this thing. I’d imagine getting hair pulled out of you as a cat isn’t too pleasant. I’m going to get some very thin soft cloth like material and put it over this Velcro so the hard part is no longer there. Optionally, you can flip this whole thing around but then the little hanging moon that’s located on the bottom won’t be there but either way the velcro will be on the bottom and potentially getting of the way of your cat when it uses the bottom bed. I have no idea why that velcro is there, it literally just held in the little flaps when this thing was packaged togeth. Besides that, I’d give it a recommendation.
