These neoprene booties are interesting, with an unusual semi-split toe design.

These are not truly hard-soled booties, but they do provide protection from stepping on broken glass or other sharp objects. I wouldn’t want to walk far on larger sharp-edged rocks, but average gravel and river rocks would be fine for a portage.

The neoprene is not very thick, so the split toe design pretty much eliminates them from cold water use (because wool or alpaca socks can’t be worn under them for insulation).

As with most closed booties and water shoes, kayakers will want to drill a 1/8″ hole in the heel to drain them while paddling.

These booties are decent for warm water paddling and I can recommend them for that.

Well made diving boots. They are easy to get on, accurate to size and will serve me well on my upcoming trip to Hawaii. I’ve never seen the semi-split toe design before but it is an interesting concept and I am excited to try them out in the real world but the design makes a lot of sense. I am not an expert with wet suites or these type of booties but I like that rubber sole is fairly thick and wraps around the side of the shoe a bit for added protection. Compared to some of my cold water wet suits these booties are a little on the thin side but I don’t plan to use them much outside of scuba diving or SUPing.

The media could not be loaded.

I have several different pairs of water shoes, but for paddle boarding and cold weather wake surfing, I prefer booties where I can get some feel of the board under my feet. These have a thin but tough rubber sole that is super flexible. The rubber sole will protect from cuts but it’s not too thick. And the split toe also gives you extra maneuverability.

They have a nice Velcro strap across the top of your ankle for secure fit, and a bungee cord ankle clasp to keep them snug. The neoprene on these booties doesn’t feel too thick and will be great for three season waters sports. Overall these are very well made booties.

Very nice looking booties. I wish they came up a little higher to meet my suit, but I also have pretty long legs. They are comfortable, though I’m not sold on the toe split. Supposedly this is a benefit for comfort, but to me it feels weird. Probably because I’m used to booties that are open without this separation.

Good traction on the bottoms, though the insulation properties of the soles seems pretty low.

As a scuba diver, these booties are a little too short for California diving for me or going deep in open water. However, they are great for paddleboarding, snorkeling, or boogieboarding. I also like them as water shoes while boating, kayaking, or rafting. The split toe seemed a bit odd at first, but you get used to it pretty quick. Sizing is pretty accurate. I wear a Size 11 shoe and getting Size 11 fit perfectly without any socks.

If you’re looking for good water sport shoes, I highly recommend the KMT booties.

  6. PA&Mama

I love how soft these booties are. They are easy to get on and the drawcord at the top is useful. But it feels like the toe separation goes up too far, so it’s hitting the tender spot between my first and second toes. At least for me, it was uncomfortable from the beginning and seemed likely to cause blisters. Also this “feature” keeps you from being able to wear socks, and I like to wear thin wool socks under my wetsuit booties to prevent blisters.

Im not a wet suit expert or anything, but I got these for backpacking and fly fishing so I wouldn’t have to carry waiters or wading shoes. They do the trick. Mine run true to size and are easy enough to put on and take off. They offer good protection of the stream floor. You can feel all the rocks but you won’t jab your foot, and they are very comfortable in the surf. A good product. Lightweight for packing too.
