I played this game as a kid and bought it for my 7 years old son. It was a hit! He loves the game and it’s just as cute as I remember. I would recommend any of the Jumpstart games but this is definitely our favorite.

The software would never open. I get a popup notice that says I need 3 MB of virtual memory to run it. I have 3000 MB of virtual memory. I wanted to return it, but since it is downladable software I was not able to return it. So I lost $17.47.
I used a previous edition 15 years ago and it worked wonderously well for two of my grandchildren using Windows 3.1. But it would not work in my current XP. That is why I ordered it for two other grandchildren for Windows XP.

Good software for non native speakers. This software will teach your kids the very basics of spanish in a fun way. I let a friend of my son use it and he passed his spanish class with A when he was failing prior to using the software.

Does not work in windows

I have tried loading this program on 4 different computers and get the same message on all of them. It says that I cannot load this program. I have followed all of the steps and have all of the required programs and settings yet it still does not work. I was a huge waste of money.

Actually I’m posting this before I actually have it to let others know there is a link with some trouble-shooting options so if you do have issues, this might help solve them.

My 5 year old loves her new JumpStart Spanish program. She has learned to count in spanish and her colors so far. Very fun games and rewards. She is really picking things up fast. We have not had any real computer problems, it has locked up once, but that has happened on other software as well. The sound works well. For the price I would recommend this as a beginning spanish program.

My daughter uses this software at pre-school and she enjoyed it, so we bought it for our home computer. Although she thinks it is fun, I really do not see that she is learning much Spanish from it (for that, try DORA) She enjoys the games more than the learning aspect of it. My problem with the software is that it always seems to malfunction. It “sticks” and every now & then the sound just does not work. My daughters teacher said they have the same problems with the software they use in her school. Based on that, I would only give this an average rating.
