Your string really does matter. Least expensive string with NO A screeching. Love.

Update: I tried Larsen’s Strong upper strings and preferred them to the medium ones. Give them a try if you think you need more projection without the harshness (or price) of the soloist editions.

In my opinion, Larsen strings are the best. However, they’re quite expensive. If you want to try something similar, especially with more brightness and projection, go for a Jargar A and D.

These upper strings typically go with Spirocore tungsten-wound G and C or Larsen Wirecore or Magnacore G and C. I particularly recommend the Magnacore G and C strings.

Not sure if this was poorly made or if quality control just let one slip by.

The red wrapping around the peg frayed, I had this on my cello 2 whole weeks. I was super busy, so I go to tune it, and my tuner is telling me it’s at a G, when it snaps at the sound box.

I’m sad. $50 and I barely got to use it!

It had a nice sound when I did get to test if. So it gets a 3/5.

The sound is superb, however, the previous string didn’t last long at all, broke during tuning.

company replaced lost product with no argument. excellent sound, relatively inexpensive. Jargar strings snapped three times as I was tuning. I think this is better quality
