I do not wish to provide a review at this time; however, my display of stars should more than suffice.

How can you get excited about a paper tray? Although there’s nothing to get excited about, this paper tray is easy to install and works just as designed. Simply set the printer on it and configure 1 button in the printer setup and you’re done. I would highly recommend the 550-sheet tray over the 250-sheet tray. I originally purchased the smaller one and found myself refilling it frequently. Get the larger one. It’s worth a little extra money and doesn’t take up much more space at all.

This drawer was purchased to be used with a Lexmark E260dn network laser printer. It has performed well, was easy to install, and we have had no issues with it. It has allowed us to reduce the number of times we need to fill with paper vs number of print jobs. It holds a full ream of paper (500 sheets) plus approx 50 more. I would say that the cost of it is worth it even though it is nearly as expensive as the printer itself.

I have used HP laser printers for many years. However, I have heard comments (even from techs) about the newer HP printers not being the same quality, and I was really upset when I had to retire a perfectly good HP laser printer because HP does not choose to provide updated Windows 7 drivers for printers just over 5 years old. I ended up choosing the Lexmark E460dn printer. It is very cost effective, and seems to work very well in my small office environment. I did have to upgrade the firmware to deal with some weird issues, but the Lexmark support was very responsive and helpful — even walking me through the install on the phone. The biggest drawback is that the printer’s standard paper bin holds less than a ream of paper. I ended up ordering this expansion drawer for the printer that does hold one ream. While the cost of the extra tray is in the same range as the printer itself at discount, the total cost was still reasonable compared to other choices I reviewed.
The tray installed very easily (just set the printer on it), and it has worked fine for me since. The printer recognized it without any action on my part. I occasionally have a little trouble seating the new ream of paper in the tray because the edge of the stack of paper is tapered in the tray and somewhat hard to reach. However, that is not a big drawback, and probably would not be an issue at all if I changed the paper more often. The tray expands out the back of the printer so that it can hold legal size paper when I need that.
This tray makes the E460dn printer much more convenient.
