LG C3 77-Inch OLED Smart TV

I’m enjoying it so much. There is a learning curve on figuring out the voice commands and the color and brightness options but it’s wonderful. I mostly control by voice just speaking without using the controller. So it’s “Hi Tv, turn on/off”. The trick to the picture is working on it to where it suits your tastes. It’s not picture perfect out the box, at least my model wasn’t. It was too bright and too sharp. Now she’s perfect, so you’ve got to tinker with it. And it doesn’t get hot like the G3, which I was able to find out in the store. The remote is fun to use, as it’s a magic cursor like the option on the PS4 controller. Be sure to use the option to go back to the last input so the TV comes on immediately without having to go thru the Home screen; most people will want the TV to just come on, not the web features. The internet browser feature is fun and fast. And, I like that you can have the Internet browser open on one side and the TV or PC open on the other side, so you’re dual viewing. It’s spectacular.

 I had an old Vizio 50” for many years, I’d guess about 8 years. While I had the money, I just never wanted to spend it since the TV was fine for me.

Well, I got some Christmas gifts that were money, with the express idea of helping me buy a TV. I chose this 65” LG OLED. It’s enormous, possibly too big for a 1Br apartment tbh, lol. I had to move my couch back a little bit.

The blacks are jet black, and the whites (simultaneously) are bright enough that it looks like glare coming from them. It’s a vast difference from my old TV. The picture is amazing, and it’s 120 Hz. Coupled with a PS5 (or Xbox, or PC) it’s awesome, it even has a substantial amount of gaming settings and a little gaming dashboard. It’s like a whole different experience than my old TV. It also has all of the modern smart TV features, including of course streaming services (I used to have to use my PS5 for HBO Max, but no longer).

I love it tbh. It’s a lot of money for something that honestly would be fine at a lower quality offering, but I’m happy with it.

It was delivered with “chose the room” type of service, which I picked because I live on the second floor, so they carried it up for me. I set it up myself and disposed of the box/garbage.

Make sure if you lift the top of the box off to get to the TV that you pull out the foam insert in the top of it, that’s where the remote and stuff is. Lifting the top off is best in case you want to save the box intact, but the foam piece is basically pressed in there, so you’ll have to carefully pull it out from the very top of the box. At first i thought I was missing stuff because I’m not the brightest.

The sound is like having small PC speakers with a subwoofer, it’s far beyond my old TV. It has very loud bass, not like older TVs.

If you haven’t upgraded in a while, it’s a pretty cool experience. It has a ton of features and settings. I love it, no issues so far and set up was extremely fast (I don’t have cable, I only use streaming stuff, so maybe that’s why). Slowest thing was downloading the LG app and making a profile, then connecting. Otherwise? Very fast and easy.

Perfect example of getting what you pay for, LG is superior, I’ve used this brand for 20 years ,unfortunately 2 years ago I had a tv go down and couldn’t swing the the price of a great on so I bought 149 $ roku tv which served it’s purpose but had to constantly load my apps ,constantly, reconnect wifi ,finally it failed. It was a 150$ tv. Now I’m back in a place in life to buy the right thing for the $ superior graphics ,sound ,and it’s pre loaded with all apps I subscribe to, it has a 120 hz refresh rate which gives it incredible speed. I’ll probably never utilize all the smart features but knowing how to use the ones I do are spectacular excellent quality and value for the sale price to boot, incredibly easy and fast setup also most of which is automated. It’s what I’ve come to expect from LG and they keep delivering.. very satisfied customer TWL
