First off, ordered this from Appliance Supply. The communication and shipping speed was excellent — Duluth MN to Indianapolis IN in 5 days. Dropped off in my garage in perfect shape.

On to the washer/dryer combo itself. I used this to replace a 13 year old LG washer and dryer pair because I really could use the additional space and any energy savings would be appreciated. I was (and to a point am still) apprehensive because I have 3 dogs (including a German Shepherd) and 2 cats and get to deal with all of their hair, particularly on the cover sheets on the bed. So far it seem to be handling the pet hair well although I am only 5 loads in and hair needs to be removed from the rubber door seal after drying. That is not difficult so far so I have no complaints at this time.

This thing is easy to set up. The longest amount of time was spent leveling it. There is no auto leveling in place so you will have to do it manually. That said, I had it unboxed, installed, connected, and in use in about an hour. Just pre-read the instructions, make sure you remove all 4 shipping bolts, ensure that you’re level, and you should have no problems.

A wash on the normal cycle takes about 30 minutes to complete. If you do a speed wash, it is about 15 minutes depending on the soil level selected. Drying on the Turbo Dry cycle is about 2 to 2.5 hours for a weeks worth of clothes for one person, about 3 hours for 2 full sets of bath towels. Everything comes out dry and after folding has been as wrinkle free as my previous dryer.

This thing is quiet. It sits around the corner from the bedroom and it cannot be heard in there even with doors open and at night and that includes the spin cycle. I have to check on it to make sure its running.

    Negatives:
    – The ThinQ setup on my phone still has not set up properly. So, to date, that is been of no use. I’ll try again before I start to wash more loads but it has not worked as advertised so far.
    – The detergent drawer feels extremely cheap for lack of a better word. The one on my old washer felt much heftier and more solid. You do get four compartments in it however — pre-wash, wash, bleach, and softener.
    – The user’s guide that comes with it is very terse on the settings so you just kind of have to play with them hoping you get what you want. Since most of my washing is done on the normal setting with Turbo dry that is what I do but I’m not sure what the difference between turbo dry and normal dry is for instance. Or how selecting Turbo Wash impacts the wash cycle.

Overall, on limited experience, this has been a good purchase. It does what I want, in a small space, at a decent price, and while not as fast at drying as what I used to have, is nowhere near as slow as I had feared. It is so quiet that I can toss a load in before going to bed and I will not be kept up. My primary concern is how the amount of pet hair I pulled out of my old dryer will work on this one but I won’t know for a few months.

Though this unit does save space and has a nice large capacity, there are many very serious drawbacks.
-The dryer releases a lot of humidity into the air. This can be very problematic, especially in a small space. We bought this unit for our tiny house and developed a very serious mold problem in the walls, in some part due to this feature. We ended up venting the unit to the outside which improved the problem dramatically, but only after our house was essentially ruined.
-unless you remove clothes IMMEDIATELY, they come out extremely wrinkled. We aren’t iron and starch kind of people, but I’m talking ridiculously, unwearably wrinkled. Considering a large load takes 7 or so hours, it’s hard to time things do you are there the minute the load is done. And even if you do pull them out right away, they are still somewhat wrinkled.
-the steam feature on the dryer ruins elastic over time. After using this machine for 3 years, we realized it was ruining our clothes. Underwear, leggings, bras, sweatpants, even jeans had to just go in the trash.
-the lint catch on the bottom of the unit is a stupid feature and a total pain. You have to drain all the water out from the hose before removing and cleaning, and even then, water usually leaks out when you unscrew it. If you forget to clean it out for too long, then you will end up getting an error message and have to drain an entire load of water out pan-by-pan so you can unscrew it and clean it. It’s at the bottom of the machine so only a shallow pan will fit under it. And, if you don’t screw it back in tight, you will have water leaking all over the floor next time you do a load.
So basically, this machine shouldn’t be used without a vent (though it is advertised as being “ventless”), it wrinkled and ruins your clothes, may leak water all over your floor and and is a pain to maintain. I would definitely never buy one of these again!
