I really like the port selection and versatility of this dock. I already own another brands Thunderbolt 4 dock that works really well. I’ve got the other dock maxed out and simply want more options.
When I first set this up I was really pleased as I moved almost everything from the other dock to this to test all of the ports. All was good until I tested the 2.5Gb ethernet port. My typical speeds on the other dock are 1430 down and 230 up and those numbers are very consistent. When I tested this dock my downloads were in the 100-150 range and nothing I did changed that. Upload speeds were fine at about 230. I did numerous tests and tried everything I could to fix the speed problem including confirming proper driver, numerous network resets and computer restarts. I switched back to the old dock and got 1430 down but then back to this dock and got 100-150. I repeated this A/B testing repeatedly with the same results. I contacted Amazon for tech support and discussion they determined it was defective and arranged for an exchange. Unfortunately when I got the 2nd unit I got the exact same results over numerous tests.
I have since returned both of these and I’m back to successfully using only my original dock (different brand). I suppose it’s possible that I got 2 bad docks but I’m amazed that there are not other reviews that have had the same problem. Other people do seem to be having problems with other ports and with reliability. If this ethernet speed problem was acknowledged and fixed I’d buy this again and give it 5 stars…did I mention that I really like the port selection.

I was a bit concerned as it’s considerably cheaper than the similar specs thunderbolt 4 hubs made by other brands and there wasn’t any review. Anyway, I was blown away with the quality and everything works like how it’s supposed to work. I have MacBook Air M3 and this hub works with it without any issue, just plug it in and my dual external screens setup works with no drama and 2.5GB Ethernet is great too since I have 2.5GB switch setup at home. Highly recommend!

I almost did not buy this because it was much less expensive than others and no reviews. I took the plunge and it worked right out of the box perfectly. I have MacBook Air 2023 and added a monitor, and external drive, read the micro SD with no problems. It’s well built and metal and heavy. It comes with a large power brick and Thunderbolt 4 cable. I have to say it’s nice to get something that works as listed. Also 2.5 ethernet port.

Works Great with M2 Max.

I purchased this dock for it’s port selection and to support the 3 screen monitor set up I use for work. I was switching from my desktop to a MacBook Pro M3 Max. Trying the combination of DP and HDMI connections, I was only able to get my monitors to work in mirror mode when more than one is connected through this dock. I do not know if this functionality would be different when using the thunderbolt 4 ports to output to a monitor as I did not test this.
Currently on my set up I am locked to 2 monitors at a time. One uses the HDMI port on the macbook, and the other using one of the ports on the dock. Disappointing, and will be needing to switch to another dock in the future for my the full functionality I need.
Otherwise, the dock works well enough and I haven’t had any issues with connecting hard drives and their speeds through the dock.

I was super excited to see this docking station: All the ports I want + 2.5Gbe NIC + multiple display support at 4k+ resolutions on thunderbolt 4. More importantly, it all comes at a very reasonable price, compared to most of the other decent thunderbolt 4 docking stations which easily cost the price of decently configured mini PC (think about it). I thought I can finally declutter all the stuff around my MBP without sacrificing any performance or accessories.
Unfortunately, this thing is very poorly implemented. It carries some weight, but first and foremost, I thought the case was some aluminum, Nope… It’s all plastic with a huge power brick. I don’t mind that as long as it performs, but as soon as I hook everything up and did a network test, I was really disappointed. I had a 3840×1600 ultrawide attached to the thunderbolt port, and the throughput on the ethernet port was nowhere near 2.5Gbps.
I thought it was my monitor taking up too much bandwidth, even though it shouldn’t be anywhere close to saturating a single 40Gbps TB4 link at that resolution with refresh rate at 75Hz. But anyway, I unplug everything from the docking station with only the ethernet cable connected (and the TB4 to the host). Here in both pictures was what I got from a locally hosted Open Speed test and iperf3 from another machine in the same network, both on 2.5GBe LAN. The download speed barely breaks 1.8Gbps in all cases, even when there was NOTHING ELSE connected to the dock. That is simply not acceptable. And I didn’t even bother testing any other ports. The fact is, with how the 2.5G port was performing, I have very little faith on the other ports reaching their actual rates. And I don’t have the energy to test them one by one in all kinds of situations.
Too bad, it could have been a great dock for a budget price. I know it is attempting, but it is just too good to be true and you should stay away from this as well.
Update: Admittedly, 1-star is a bit too harsh. I revise it to be 2-star, after manufacturer contacted me to provide full refund. I really hope that they can make the product right eventually to provide a perfect budget solution for a thunderbolt dock.
