Just purchased this, mostly for quickly cooking rice, and it’s far more promising than I expected. I don’t know about longevity, of course, but I tried it right away, and it’s the perfect size for about 1½ c rice. Did a lovely job of cooking it up, too – heated quickly without burning, got to pressure really quickly and once I played around with the stove settings a little, stayed under pressure. Has a nice thick bottom; not as thick as some of the better quality Western cookware, but certainly adequate. Also, the metal is a bit lighter than I would like for a pressure cooker. Handle is attached with 2 screws; my one reservation is that these may rust. We’ll see.
The one goofy thing was that the instructions are in Chinese – no English instructions anywhere, not even online. I did find a video in English which said to oil the lip before attaching the lid; everything else was as for any other pressure cooker.
Given that it’s not too hard to figure out a pressure cooker, this was more of an I-need-to-read-instructions-on-everything OCD thing than actually need or even inconvenience.
Oh, and it comes with only the pressure lid; however I found that the lid from one of my Lagostina pots fits just perfectly, so it seems the size is pretty standard. It’s nice to know you can put another lid on there once the cooking is done.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a 1-2 person pressure cooker. I still prefer my heavier Swiss ones for the larger sizes but since those are not available in a 2-L size, this one looks like a good workaround.
