My son uses this dehydrator for making jerky and loves it. I use it for drying leaves for tea. It’s easy to use, the racks hold a lot of product and the drying times are good. It feels durable, it looks nice on the counter and has a lot of space for whatever you’re processing. Very happy with this purchase.

We haven’t tried our Magic Mill dehydrator yet but will soon. We got it mainly to dry elk and deer meat but I plan to make fruit leather and to dry some fruits and veggies too. I gave it 5 stars because I expect that is what I’ll rate it once we use it, it looks to be well made, but I’ll come back and add more of a review and change my rating if I need to later. Main reason I’m reviewing now is to mention a nice cover I got for it. I contacted Magic Mill to ask if they make a cover for the dehydrator and received a curt “no we don’t” response. Fine, I got my answer but I’d expect something more like, “Sorry, we don’t make one.” or something a little friendlier. Whatever.
I went on a search over a few days trying to find an appliance cover that would work for it. We are in the high desert and we have two big Maine Coon cats so we have persistent dust and cat hair. We do clean, of course, but there’s no escape from either completely. Anyhow, after spending quite a bit of time looking at many appliance covers I finally found ONE that I thought would work. Most were too small, too big, too narrow…not right. This one is maybe 4″ short for the dehydrator but it’s a nice fit otherwise and covers the main machine including the vents so I’m very happy to have found it. It’s padded, nicely made, looks like it will last, has a pocket along the side (for the dehydrator manual or whatever), and it has a sewn-on cloth handle on top so that you can simply lift it off. It’s ever so slightly big, not by much. It slides on easily and lifts off easily. So, if you are looking for a cover for your Magic Mill dehydrator, don’t bother asking the manufacturer, just check out this one: Luxja Dust Cover for Microwave Oven (Fits for Most 0.7 Cu.Ft Microwaves). When I bought it, it was $18.99 and totally worth it.
Okay here is the review. The package came in a nice box and then the product boxing. Everything was fine and was delivered in a timely fashion. However, upon opening up the box discovered that the plastic door was cracked on the far right bottom. It appeared to be either a manufacturing in molding problem or the person packaging the unit squeezed the door up against the protective cardboard too tightly. Not to fret. I immediately contacted Amazon and they wanted for me to ship the product back. This I thought was quite unnecessary and all I needed was a new door. So I contacted the manufacturer and was pleasantly surprised that they too were in New Jersey! Dave at customer service was very helpful and assured me that he would ship out a new door that day. And guess what! Dave is good for it! Within two days a private carrier delivered to my door a brand new door replacement! The customer service experience was delightful and handled professionally.
Onto the product – The stainless steel shelves are great, good quality, trays supplied was overwhelming, the mesh screen trays are great too.
The extra hanging tray with skewers, awesome!
The bright green hand mits, fun and functional.
The digital timer works as expected along with the adjustment for temperature control.
The machine makes very low running noise.
I started out with fruits, strawberries, bananas, pears, apples and although I sliced by hand thin, made a great crackle on top of yogurt. I also used it to dry out organic parsley from the garden and end product was a rich handful of crumbling fine parsley, excellent!
Cannot wait to do more and experiment.
I highly recommend this product and this is my hones opinion, did not receive any special pricing etc for this review. Go for it!

I was Leary of buying this online but am so glad I did. Very nice setup. My only two concerns are, 1 the door wasn’t on all the way but my husband managed to get the pin set on the frame. 2 the racks will tilt down when you pull them out part way of the dehydrator. You must be very careful if you are pouring a liquid in and only pull out the tray less than half way. Works great and my previous liquid trays still fit the new machine. Nice air flow, and temp gauge. On first use I thought it was broken because I couldn’t get it to start. You absolutely have to push start BEFORE 5 seconds or it will not start. So that’s just a learning curve for this machine.

I finally retired my nearly 30 yr old dehydrator. I love the stainless shelves in this one. I like the digital temp control. I’ve had great success making jerky, yogurt, dried apples, dried herbs. My only complaint is the faceplate fell off and had to be reglued to stay in place.

Me encantó mi deshidratador, lo uso para galletas y le encanta que puedo deshidratar casi 100 piezas por todos los niveles que trae, en comparación con otros que he tenido siento que deshidrata más rápido….. muy fácil de usar …. lo único es que las rejillas de calientan mucho pueden llegar a quemarte ligeramente dependiendo la temperatura así que hay que usar protección.
