Tenía muchas expectativas puestas en este libro y las ha superado con creces. Jordan y Danny son dos referentes en el campo de la nutrición para los deportes de combate y han plasmado todo su conocimiento en este libro. Muy agradecido.

Making Weight should be mandatory reading for anyone who assists combat athletes with weight cutting, or for any athletes who partake in that process alone or want to learn more about how to do it properly. It’s comprehensive and extremely well referenced, yet simple to read, understand and action. Bridging the gap between science and application is part of the reason that these guys are so successful at what they do, and this project is no different.
Before getting my hands on this book, I felt I had a decent knowledge of, and level of experience with, helping fighters to make weight and perform at their best. Yet I’ve found myself cross-checking the book for my work every day since I’ve got it!
The book is a testament to Jordan and Danny’s relentless commitment to making the combat sports world a safer, more progressive and science backed space.
Thank you for bringing this to life guys!

I bought this book prior to making a small-ish cut from 208lbs to 198lbs for a judo tournament. This meant a day before weigh in. Not only did this book lay out exactly how I could expect to make that cut in the days leading up to the tournament, but it also went into fantastic detail on the science behind each facet of the cut. Jordan discusses every option available to the fighter and their coaching staff when it comes to cutting weight. He goes over the pros and cons of each aspect, when to use them, how to use them, and provides plenty of examples and case studies to fit your situation.
This is a must have for any coach of weight cutting athletes and probably a good buy for the athletes themselves.

I bought Danny Loennon’s previous weight-cutting guide and other texts such as Reid Reele’s combat sports nutrition. I haven’t started Danny and Jordan’s latest book yet, but as a combat sports nutrition geek I know I’m in good hands and can’t wait to dig into the details! I hope this book gives more information and nuance on considerations for female athletes specifically, as that has been lacking in previous combat sports nutrition guides, IMO. Looking forward to getting stuck in!
Sean Fitzgerald –
This book is exactly what combat sports nutritionists, athletes, and coaches have been needing. I had high expectations, knowing who the authors were, and this book went above and beyond those already high expectations!
Logically laid out, easy to understand language, and plenty of “in the trenches” practical advice to help translate the science into practice.
Cannot fault a single thing with this book. If you’re a fighter yourself, or a coach or nutritionist who works with fighters, this book is a non-negotioable. Get it!

This is without a doubt the single best resource for not only safely making weight for weight category sports, but for getting into the details on sports nutrition and performance. I use the book for powerlifting and not combat sports. In the past, I have always made weight, but can never keep my strength at the lower weight class. I’m confident now that Incan do that and will be getting my Masters Bench press world record back very soon!

The book has amazing graphs, and does a through dive into all aspects of weight cutting. I am a strength and conditioning coach and have taken athletes through weight cuts myself. When trying to find information out there to do it as safe as possible, there just is nothing like this book. It is an invaluable resource. Thank you guys for writing and putting this together.

Packed with science and practical application, Danny and Jordan’s book is a must for any professional or athlete who wants to make weight safely.
